Here is audio of Rush Limbaugh reacting today to reports that the RNC is considering having Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, and himself moderate 2016 GOP Presidential Debates. Limbaugh said, “I’m too famous” to do it, and that he would “overshadow” the candidates. But he did go on to say such debates would not be on mainstream media outlets if they were to take place.

I think it would be great!

Since broadband became mainstream, there has been no need for the GOP to agree to a liberal moderator of the debates.

There is likewise no need for them to appear on MSM talk shows. But they refuse to do it.

Listening to Rush - he went on to explain that he meant that the “media” would focus on him, not on the contents of the candidates’ statements or their ideas.

He wouldn’t want that to happen.

That was my take the second I heard this idea floated. I think the same could be said of Hannity also. I see Michelle Malkin and Laura Ingram as being great debate moderators. They are smart, conservative and don't have the celebrity and oversized personalities that would overshadow the candidates.

Rush and O’Reilly should have a contest. First to 1000 is the winner. Here’s the contest:

REPEAT THE FOLLOWING PHRASE 1000 TIMES AS FAST AS YOU CAN:

ME

Rush is more of an “I” speaker. O’Reilly in a walk.

If she doesn’t run, Sarah needs to moderate them.

So I take it you never say the word “me” in front of your 20,000,000 listeners?

By last count I was falling behind the 20,000,000 goal. But then again my favorite subject, by far, is not ME. So it is going to be hard to reach the goal since I really don't like talking about ME, ME, ME, ME as much as some other more successful personalities.

My problem is I'm not really interested in ME unless it is about ME and it never is. It's always some other ME who's initials re R.L. It gets tiresome.

But, in fact, it is the excessive commercial breaks that finally drove me away from Limbaugh. It just got to be too much. Not enough real content and too many long breaks. My estimate is Rush is on for about 33 to 35 minutes an hour. My time is worth more than that.

Well, get off your "too famous" @ss and run for office. It's time to DO something for America rather than talk about it.

I it is a standard radio format. If your time is really worth that much pay for his 24/7 stream and you get hilarious parodies and fake commercials on those break times.

So then Rush wouldn't do it because of the behavior of the media?

Wrong answer El Rushbo.

He has a far bigger impact on the radio. Most politicians when they open their mouth are ignored. People actually pay attention to what he says.

Rush is correct on this. Not only that, but it would be very difficult for him to moderate with his hearing difficulties.

It wasn’t about Rush, he was correct. You KNOW the MSM would be all about what Rush did, or did not do, or say.

Now O’Reilly on the other hand, I agree with your assessment.

Sad but true. But the in your face aspect of it would be a huge motivator for the right.

I was thinking,,all msm outlets should be banned from the debates. Of course one of them will send in a toadie who uses a camera phone but maybe the GOP should invite the foreign media instead.

Thanks, I've listened since 1991, but Rush has been preaching to the choir for too long now.
America is in trouble and he'd have a hell of a bigger impact as a senator.

In the current format they don’t actually need a moderator as no debate happens. They could use a teleprompter to ask the question.

Now if it were Lincoln Douglas style, then yes. But they should just hire a private investigator and fins a truly neutral judge from the boonies. And have him in disguise so the MSM couldnt do character assination on him after.
