Actually in the big picture of things he is right.

Paul lumped homosexuals and fornicators together... And with birth control there is fundamentally no difference in the acts.

"Paul lumped homosexuals and fornicators together"

Well, to be more accurate, Paul lumped homosexuals and fornicators together along with adulterers, idolaters, thieves, the covetous, drunkards, swindlers and revilers. (1Corinthians 6:9)

Just a note on the word "revile." Revile: to assail with contemptuous or opprobrious language; address or speak of abusively.

Damn, looks like we are ALL in need of grace.

Yes we are in need of grace. But we cannot have grace if we do not believe we need to repent due to refusing to accept that we have in fact committed sins, whether it be fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lust and the rest of the litany of sins.

Having a “pridefest”, celebrating ours sins is hardly repentant. That’s the point. RG3 didn’t say anything of that nature. He seemed to accommodate the state of people living in an ongoing lifestyle of sin.

Jesus Christ said, 'Go and sin no more.'

As Believers, we will be tempted and sin at times. When we do sin, we are immediately convicted and can turn to our Advocate (Jesus Christ) in repentance and in order to pray for help to overcome it in the future.

However, continual, habitual, purposeful, and rebellious sin (of any kind) against God's commands in a person's life is a demonstration that they most likely don't have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and aren't filled with the Holy Spirit. Who gives the ability to escape it when tempted. 1 Corinthians 10:13

If ye love me, keep my commandments.~ John 14:15

“Having a “pridefest”, celebrating ours sins is hardly repentant.”

Correct, and that is addressed in Romans 1:32:

“who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.”

Everyone sins, but that doesn’t mean sin should be condoned.

Paul lumped homosexuals and fornicators together... And with birth control there is fundamentally no difference in the acts.

And yet God reserved the adjective "Abomination"(Leviticus 20:13) for homosexuality and Paul in Chapter 1 of Romans, put's the sin of Homosexuality in a class by itself in terms of it being a punishment from God for continually serving oneself instead of God. So, I think your inference is incomplete at best.

And furthermore, none of this discussion absolves RGIII from the acceptance of something God calls an abomination.

RGIII, in effect, just took sides against God himself.

"Having a “pridefest”, celebrating ours sins is hardly repentant"

Does an endless string of "video selfies" qualify as a prideful sin?

Bingo, publius.

We don’t get the option of redefining sin into being “not sin”. God says it’s sin...all of those things to include homosexuality.

We can’t say, “Grace...grace...grace...and that means nothing gets to be defined as sin anymore, so dude, keep doing what you’re doing, it’s just fine.”

The message is “repent and believe the gospel.” That means to admit that sin is sin, that it is harmful, that it violates God’s rules on how he wants this world to operate, and that WE are to admit it’s wrong and stop doing it.

That’s a whole world different than saying it’s A-OK and we can keep doing it.

Actually in the big picture of things he is right.

He's wrong! Anyone who is still a sinner has NOT received Jesus. He clearly has bad teaching. And those who do - WILL fall for anything and he certainly has.

“I don’t worship Paul. He doesn’t set my standards.”

I’m not quite sure what you are implying here. Do you not believe the epistles to be part of Scripture? If so on what basis? And if you do, then how does the fact that you do not “worship Paul” (which no one does that I know) diminish the truth of what Paul taught?

If one thinks they are not a sinner... They are guilty of the sin of pride.

The devil couldn’t lust... But he sure could commit the sin of pride.

homosexual Christians? Christian gossips? adulterous Christians? 1 Corinthians 5:11 “But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.”

Are we using the word Christian rather than brother?

I suppose we could debate the theological niceties of when grace occurs and whether it is dependent on our repentance (and I expect we would agree more than disagree), but I do agree that repentance is necessary.

To be honest, I found RGIII's statement disappointing, but I am continually disappointed by the number of people (not you publius) who speak as though the Bible was written for the sole purpose of warning people about homosexuality, when, in truth, we are all guilty of equivalent sin.

If one thinks they are not a sinner... They are guilty of the sin of pride.

Those gully of pride are those who think they don't need a Savior - they can save themselves for they see themselves as good. They are unable to humble themselves.

I was a sinner who was saved by grace. Jesus died for my sin nature and I am now 'in Him' ..."Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Cor.

But he sure could commit the sin of pride.

Just like all those who are not 'born again of the spirit' and are so unteached they don't know true Christianity and therefore are 'useable' to Satan with their lack of knowledge.

Reminder: I am who Christ says I am in His Word. What you or others think or say means squat. That will pierce the Christianity lite and prideful sinner.
