I think the Ronnie Sachs crash at the 1964 Indy 500 should always be remembered. It was horrific.

For sure, but maybe that even had a bit more ‘give’ than early steel body-on-frame designs... but no seatbelts, and NO safety glass yet, that wasn’t until late 40s I believe- ouch!

Yes. We own a 29 Model A Ford sedan. I’ve purchased seat belts (not installed yet) and am refusing to ride in it without turn signals and extra rear stop lights added. And never on a freeway.
