LAPD reports a 13% crime down during the 4 months it was rolled out compared to an increase 0.4% in the rest of the city where the rollout had not happened

That is amazing.
You take a bunch of officers out of the rest of the city and concentrate them in an area this group says and crime goes down in the area of concentration and up in the rest... Who could have saw that coming................

I am just guessing here, but I suspect that stepped up patrols in africanmerican hoods er neighborhoods probably helped.

How about pulling the section 8 housing maps? I am quite sure you will be able to predict where most of the crime will happen with it.

So a big concern is who’s paying for this experiment and what rights will be violated in the future to seek deeper information so law enforcement can predict.

At least they are being honest.

I seem to remember a few years ago that Oklahoma used a new computer modeling program to determine where a serial rapist/murderer probably lived.

They knew that serials usually don’t commit rapes in their own neighborhood, but in areas surrounding their home and programed in several other profiling data point.

It might even have been that famous BTK guy that they caught with it.

At any rate, computer programs can probably work on some types of criminals which have recognizable parameters in their MOs.
