Intelligence: Obama Revealed Too Much in Embassy Warnings

Warnings from U.S. officials on the threat of possible terrorist strikes against Americans overseas -- and the massive closure of embassies in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia on Sunday -- may have divulged too much information, including details about the intercepted chatter and source of the information.

Some intelligence officials say the disclosures may work against obtaining new information and even pose a deadly threat from militants who might kill anyone suspected of working with Western intelligence, The Washington Times reported.

“There simply are not that many who would know about the attacks,” the Times quoted one former high-ranking U.S. intelligence officer saying, "so it won’t be hard for al-Qaida leaders to pin-point the sources of information. Once that happens, they certainly won’t be working with us anymore.”

The State Department Friday issued a worldwide travel alert for Americans, citing an unspecified al-Qaida threat; the bulletin said that the highest threat levels are the Middle East and North Africa, “and possibly occurring in or emanating from the Arab Peninsula.”

Top U.S. officials are reviewing the threat of a terrorist attack that has led to the weekend closure of 21 U.S. embassies and consulates in the Muslim world and a global travel warning to Americans.

The White House says that President Barack Obama has been briefed on the threat and preparedness measures

Obama's national security adviser, Susan Rice, led the meeting and then helped brief the president.

Among those at the meeting Saturday afternoon were the secretaries of state, defense and homeland security and the directors of the FBI and CIA.

Obama's national security adviser, Susan Rice, led the meeting and then helped brief the president.

In other words - ... the leader of the Obama brotherhood was celebrating at Camp David and did not have time to attend the meeting.

I believe Al Queda poses a direct threat to the Department of Education, EPA, HUD, The Federal Reserve, BATF, DHS, and the NSA. All should be closed until we can make absolutely sure they are no threat to us aren't in danger.

It’s another false flag.
New Benghazi revelations have pushed Obama into a corner and data collection by NSA must be proved to be relevant.
He needed a threat to say” See, I told you this program worked. We stopped many terrorist attacks and we are diligent in protecting our embassies.” There’s no threat.

I haven’t seen any great threat, just a lot of warnings, and of course the escape of a lot of prisoners.

I believe the threat was BS to make us think the NSA spying on us is justifiable.

I do not trust anything this bunch does. I do hope Obama had a nice Birthday party at Camp David, while other were doing his job for him. Maybe he went skeet shooting while he was there.

So, who has done more harm: Snowden, or Obama?

I agree with you on that one. Terrorism is a lot like anger, when it strikes you’re often not expecting it. But I’m also adding the idea that al Qaeda wants the US to look weak and cowardly by making frivolous threats. If they’re smart they should figure out a way to shut down the entire US federal government without using a suicide bomber.

I'm in agreement with you. Not that AQ isn't a threat but I believe Obama drags the Al-Qaeda boogieman out of his bag of tricks whenever he needs a diversion. The more damaging a scandal is to him, the bigger he inflates the boogieman.

This whole threat is a bogus diversion. Period.

... and of course the escape of a lot of prisoners.

I don't think that story has gotten nearly enough attention. Iraq is falling apart and will soon explode back on the front pages. I've not always been a fan of our Mideast policies but the last five years of total incompetence and pettiness has been breathtaking.

P.S., you know how you can tell this is bogus? Because, “thou doth protest too much”. They keep upping the anty on how severe the threat is. Now it’s keep the embassies closed for a week. Anything to make the threat appear as big as possible and raise the volume about it to the public at large as much as possible. A total scam.

“Warnings from U.S. officials on the threat of possible terrorist strikes against Americans overseas — and the massive closure of embassies in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia on Sunday — may have divulged too much information, including details about the intercepted chatter and source of the information”

exactly!!!

the US government leakers of this information were had to show their press contacts they were so damn im’potant they divulged intelligence gathering and methods and probably committed grave damage to US national security

Is this the new Susan Rice national security team in its first flush of power?

I wouldn’t be surprised if al Qaeda, being smarter than obama, Susan Rice, Chuckless Hagel, Benghazi Brennan, and John Kerry combined, intentionally flooded our collection channels with chatter so they could track what we discovered and they (al Qaeda) could take corrective action on their OPSEC before they plan a real attack

Bingo. It’s hard not to think this way given what we’ve already seen from this administration.

How can anyone include the words “Intelligence” and “Obama” in the same sentence?

It’s another false flag.

Was thinking the same thing. This is all WAY too convenient and entirely too much information was made public.

There’s no threat.

The threat is Obama. and his cohorts in the administration and the media.
