And it may help you to know that I consider men like Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Dr. Ben Carson, Dr. Allen Keyes. Col. Alan West, FBN’s Charles Payne, Herman Cain and a few others some of the smartest guys on the planet. I would vote for any one of them over some idiot white elitist libtard in a New York second.

The writer takes a small sliver of a situation, then uses that sliver to describe the entire situation.
There are such students as the writer described. But they are in the minority, even in the worst of classes.

Indeed. As I posted on another thread, the Zimmerman persecution was truly my last straw. I do not engage with blacks, and other than to look them in the eye to judge my safety (and to take action if warranted) I ignore them. Completely.
While I agree with most of the points of the esssy, it seems to be a reworded version of an article posted in all places on craigslist.

Yes, yes, and yes again. And when it comes to the urban schools, money is not the answer.
Courage is the answer. The schools need to have the courage to remove the few disruptive students from the classrooms, and put them in an alternative school.
But the schools do not have the courage to do that. They do not have the courage to stand up to the parents of the disruptive students, and their lawyers.
So instead the good students must suffer as the disruptive students run wild.

Agreed! But what you're missing is that the author of the article goes out of his/her way to make it about all about race.
I hear a lot of frustrated emotion in the author’s writing. I believe the author has tried faithfully, still tries, but no longer expects results. And the garbled english...And I believe things have gotten much worse in the public schools and in the homes of these young people. I’ll admit I have come to dread, in particular, dealing with black women who are employed at hospitals and nursing homes-—how asking them questions threatens to send them into a rage. They are in very poor control of themselves, seeming ready for a fight, a literal fight with creepy assed crackas like me...and of course, no way to complain of this treatment.

To some extent, you are correct to say it’s not ALL about race.
But the author didn’t make it so: The black welfare, entitlement sub-culture that created these people made it so.
Wow, that was hard to read, but I couldn’t stop reading it. I do truly believe that what we’re seeing is the result of the destruction of the American family, caused by our “war on poverty” programs. LBJ’s programs, supported by both liberals and conservatives, made the father unnecessary in poor families and subsidized irresponsible reproduction. Without the father-like discipline and the bonds of the family, children went elsewhere for those bonds. They found them in gangs and drugs. I’m not sure how or when it will end, but it won’t be good.
I have to agree. This guy sounds like he is too rigid and self-absorbed to reach the children on any level. Why is he trying to teach them such fine points of British history? America now have plenty of history the kids can relate to, black and white, with the British antecedents thrown in for those who ask.
As for the black kids' negative attitudes towards whites, learning and racism, those are a matter of First Principles. If he hears this stuff constantly, he has not taught the kids how to think differently about those topics before any other learning can take place.
Granted, I taught college sophomores. But there were certainly some slackers, and also some who felt very entitled, due to their parents' money or connections. Entitled is entitled. If they tried to talk over me in the first week of class, I made an example of them and made them go sit in the corner for five minutes. I allowed no bad behavior.
I didn’t need to read the whole thing.
I already knew all this, albeit not in such great detail.
How is it that a 63 year old white guy who has never been in an predominately black public school already knew the insufferable deplorable condition of rot that prevails...
And the people closest to the situation: School Administrators, Teachers, Parents, “Black Leaders” have presided over this calamity from start to finish.
If the perpetrators and/or participants of this educational and cultural train wreck expect things to improve...THEY NEED TO FIX IT THEMSELVES!
