Raekwon Reveals Why He Thinks Zimmerman Walked Away Scot-Free [Video]

With high-profile rap stars like Jay Z speaking on the controversial George Zimmerman verdict earlier this month, Wu-Tang Clan's Raekwon is the latest emcee to reveal his reaction.

In Rae's opinion, the Trayvon Martin family's fate was sealed with the selected jurors not having any compassion or realizing how defenseless the slain 17-year-old was.

"When I heard about the verdict, about the Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman case, I was sad," Rae revealed in an interview. "I was disappointed in the justice system and I felt like they didn't really pay attention to the case the way they were supposed to. The jurors, there were mothers there, and it hurt me to know that they wouldn't even understand the fact that he's still a child. This is a kid right here, this is not somebody that I'm saying, 'Well, he looked the suspicion' or 'He looked like he was carrying [a weapon], he was going to draw on you' or 'He was bigger than you.' This is a kid. He looked like he didn't weigh no more than 120 pounds and you a grown man following him and you must have wanted to be this hero.' And I think within the case, people didn't look at it all the way." (Fuse News)

This week, Jay Z admitted the not guilty verdict hit him extremely hard.

"I was really angry, I didn't sleep for two days. I was really angry about it. We all knew it was still a bit of racism in America but for it to be so blatant, if you just ask yourself the question, 'Didn't Travyon have a right to stand his ground?' He was being chased, he fought back. He may have won. That doesn't mean he's a criminal. He won. If you chase me and you try to attack me and I defend myself, how can I be in the wrong? How is that right? This guy went to get some Skittles and go back to watch the All-Star game. He had plans. 'I gonna get this Arizona, these Skittles, and go watch this game.' ... He had no intentions of robbing anyone's home -- it's a thing where it's like a reminder of, 'We still got a long way to go.' It's beautiful because this generation right now, they don't see color in that way. We're a bit removed from those racist feelings." ("The Truth With Elliott Wilson")

A few days ago, Indiana rapper Freddie Gibbs said the all-female jury could not possibly relate to the struggles of African Americans and especially to the slain teen.

"The defense team was arrogant, stand-offish, talk sh*t to the judge. They did their job. They swayed them six jurors that were on the motherf***ing jury. They swayed them for giving him [Zimmerman] no time," Gibbs said. "Those Jurors must not have a child or something. I thought you supposed to trial a person from n*ggas that's in his peer group? The jurors were like 50-plus, they wasn't from his peer group. They were some old women from Florida. Some old white women from Florida. They didn't give a f**k about Trayvon Martin, his mother, all the cost involved that his family is going through right now. This sh*t is tearing his family apart, and this n*gga just get to walk free? Come on, now." (XXL Mag)

President Barack Obama recently acknowledged the publicized Zimmerman trial and verdict.

"There are very few African-American men who haven't had the experience of walking across the street and hearing the locks click on the doors of cars," Mr. Obama said. "That happens to me--at least before I was a senator." The remarks, delivered without a teleprompter, were a striking example of America's first black president seeking to guide the country's thinking on race without inflaming racial tensions or undermining the judicial system. They also amounted to Mr. Obama's most pointed comments about race since his 2008 presidential campaign. Mr. Obama issued a brief statement the day after the Martin verdict was handed down. He urged calm and compassion, noting that "a jury has spoken." Missing, though, was any personal reflection from a president with a unique perspective on the matter. (Wall Street Journal)

The root of ignorant is ignore.

What's funny is that many black people have adopted the word "ignorant" as some sort of debate end all or protective cloak from facts they don't want to hear. When you raise those facts or draw logical conclusions based on those facts it's because, to them, "You so ignorant!" or "Dat's ignorant!"

In reality, you're the one with the facts and they're ignorant of those facts, but that doesn't stop them from throwing out that word.

It appears all the Martin fans simply cannot get off the false original narrative of the "white" Zimmerman seeing a black person in his neighborhood, running up to the black person, and gunning him down in cold blood. No amount of evidence has changed anything they've thought about it. The most they'll do is Zimmerman starting and losing a fight, then pulling out a gun. They simply will not accept the idea that Martin might have assaulted Zimmerman with a sneak attack.

But Zimmerman had been doing these neighborhood surveillance things for a period of time. I'm sure other black people have walked through his neighborhood and been tailed by Zimmerman. Why didn't those people end of being killed by Zimmerman if he was disposed to shoot any black people who walked into his area? We don't know everything that happened, but Zimmerman's version of the events sound far more plausible than the Martin defender's version.

TIME TO INVESTIGATE TRAVELGATE II
and seriously look at impeachment

Too many on both sides are playing with this. It’s the second time the President of the United States has interjected himself into a confrontation between those in authority on legal grounds reasonably questioned and released someone involved in a curious activity.

In both cases those representing “authority” were reported as “white” . In the second case the person working security was attacked after questioning an activity while on private rights of way and allowing the person to continue on their way. Who doubled back and attacked the “neighborhood watch” worker beating him severly on the ground and was subsequently killed in a struggle over the Neighborhood Watchmans legal pistol.

In the second case both were dark skined.

Since the Zimmernan not guilty verdict has been rendered, the facts of this case are still being shamefully being concealed by the media to the extent they are advancing and are complicit in permitting a putrid injstice to be committed of the worst order, organized and instituted by our governent. While denied. It began as a miscalculation when a surname of a Jewish origin shot up and lighted the heavens like a star shell in the darkest of nights. It would have been difused if the media used pictures of both side by side because they look like cousins. And the area where this occured of paycheck to paycheck struggling homeowners of all races trying to protect themselves had been reported and not some ritzy all white enclave.they portrayed..

Instead the party that hypenated itself from God at their 2012 convention into demo-coms, and believe that all groups should be hyphenated , Afro-American, Hispanic-American, etc..Decided Zimmerman to be the egg that is to be broken,. sacrificed, so that we have an omlet..Just like Stalin did to the Ukrainian land owners known as Kulacks whom he executed, (and used that egg example) in a soclal engineering plan to organize collectives during a Russian drought..Because as we have learned there seems to be the intention to use a collective data base to create collectives.where a utopia of uniforimity of conformity exists. As was done in Detroit, and Oakland California.only this time a poor whitey or blacky won’t be able to move,.

Just as with the energy plan where the cost of fuel used for energy and transportation has skyrocketed placing those on fixed or limited incomes dependent on government handouts because of this regimes socialist policies the sacrifice of Zimmerman must die for . This time to another communist plan. We all move together in centers designed and approved by comrades running the collective who (just like Obamacare aren’t in it) won’t and never live there.

Why is this being done ? Who accompained Obama on his many trips around the world at taxpayer expence ? Were they the heavy hitters or their friends holding the president’s hand ? Never looked into either by the House and certainly not even speculated about or reported on by the media. Seems like that could be considered pay back at US taxpayer expence. Isn’t that an impeachable offense ? Now if somebody even suggests impeachment. What better way to discourage that by organizing the base for riots in the streets ?

Yet another dumbass heard from. Trayvon defenseless? He was the aggressor here. If that point won’t sink in to any of these idiots heads then there’s no need to pay them any atention.

"Defenseless," my ass.

This is a kid. He looked like he didn't weigh no more than 120 pounds and you a grown man following him and you must have wanted to be this hero.

6 feet tall, and a lean 158 pounds. Definitely taller than Zimmerman.

Some "kid."

Yes, the people making the wild claims. This is reminiscent of the urban myth machine I used to deal with when I lived in a city. A guy would get arrested for mugging at noon and by 6pm, the entire neighborhood, even people that don’t know the criminal would be talking about how the guy was innocently walking around, helping old women cross the street and looking for a bible study group to take his children when some cops jumped him and arrested him for being black. Meanwhile, the guy has a record as long as his arm and just mugged a woman in front of her kids and ran down a dead-end street while fleeing the police and tried to fight his way out.

The urban myth machine blames whitey and has a conspiracy behind everything and it usually creates enough background noise that real facts get lost. Someone got AIDS? it was a disease crated by white people to kill blacks. “well, why don’t they have a cure yet?” Your brother dies while smoking crack? Why, it’s the white power structure that used the CIA to invent it so they could kill black people. “it’s a known fact that crack was invented by Halliburton”.. A neighbor got busted selling the chronic to middle schoolers? well, it is the fault of the school system that have been set-up to keep blacks down, “they keep their tax money and build schools in their neighborhoods and expect us to send our kids to schools in our neighborhoods and when we try to go there, we get arrested”..

Pretty soon, Trayvon will be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. The story will never be a 6ft 2inch young punk with a juvie record that just got expelled from school and was casing a neighborhood while heading to his step-mother’s house to make a cocktail using watermelon drink, candy and prescription drugs. He was egged on by a friend to jump a guy he thought was gay and in the process of beating the smaller guy up, he got shot. While he was laying on a slab for a day, his family first thought was to call the police stations to see if he was arrested.

No, it’s the “white power structure and stand your ground laws and the jury system created by white people to keep blacks down. So now they can just shot us down in the streets and nothing will happen”

There were people who claimed they were confused by the ballot, never mind that they tested that ballot on third graders after wards and they could figure it out, and believed they should have the right to re vote.

IIRC, the "confused" voters were older Jews and other liberals, who a phone bank's calls convinced that they might have accidentally voted for Pat Buchanan!

The so-called STRUGGLE has been imposed upon blacks by their own actions and by the liberals/progressives of the Democrat Party.

...it sucks for Trayvon, his family, and other loved ones.

You have put you finger on the heart of the problem, TM® had no "loved ones", not his dysfunctional family, not his running buddies, not the HOs he hung with, not even himself. He had no self respect nor even respect for life itself. he was born into a brief and bitter life, largely a result of his own poor choices.

You’re saying that people in the same situation as him are not capable of love? That his entire family, and social group are sociopaths, that’s ridiculous.

Welcome to Free Republic!

I didn't use the word "sociopath", I said "dysfunctional" but I'll stipulate that's a moot point.

TM got himself suspended from school in Miami (2, 3rd time in the current year?). He was in possession of women's jewelry, a jimmy bar, and a baggie with marijuana residue. His mother sent him to live with her ex-husband because TM was "out of control".

The Ex let TM come and go as he pleased. The day TM died his dad didn't notice until the next day when he called police to inquire if TM had been arrested. So mom says she can't control TM and the Ex provides a crash pad with no apparent supervision, how are we doing so far?

Dee Dee may indeed have loved TM because by her words, "he didn't make fun of me". At least not to her face. A rather thin foundation for a lasting relationship.

The gang/thug culture regards displays of affection as a vulnerability and thus a fatal weakness. Female gang "hangers on" are referred to as "bitches and HOs" and are used as sexual toys by male members, not a person you'd bring home to introduce to your parents. The reality of ghetto life is 73 percent of black children are born outside marriage, compared with 53 percent of Latinos and 29 percent of whites. The resultant "families" lack a breadwinner who than defaults to the Federal Government. Single mothers have poor chances in the job market due to lack of secondary education.

I am saying that dark skinned people are no different than white skinned people. They have the same potential for intelligence, the same desires to make a place in the world, the same needs for affection from family and friends. Early on they escaped the "Plantation" and then were cruelly forced right back into a ghetto, funded and operated by the Federal Government. Some have the fortitude to escape their invisible confinement and join a growing black middle class (I really don't think we need two middle classes, lets just keep "the middle class") they are certainly welcome.

My thesis is not about a weakness in the character of dark skinned people, it is instead a damning of the malevolent influence of the Federal Government's social engineering which to date has destroyed the nuclear family in the ghetto and which has allowed the educational system to devolve into a chaotic wasteland. Drugs and crime run rampant and you seem to think that love is there, just below the surface. Good luck, you'll need it!

Regards,
GtG
