Full title: "Bank Breaks Into Ohio Womans Home, Repossesses Her Belongings But Thats Not the Most Shocking Part of the Story"
Having your belongings repossessed by a bank is an awful experience, but its probably a lot worse when its done by accident.
Thats what one central Ohio woman claims happened to her.
Katie Barnett says that the First National Bank in Wellston foreclosed on her house, even though it was not her bank, 10TV.com reports.
They repossessed my house on accident, thinking it was the house across the street, Barnett explained.
Barnett added that she was away when the bank decided to break into her home and take her things.
She said she had to crawl through the window of her own house in order to get in after she used her own key that did not work, the report adds.

I hope this woman burns them to the ground financially!
So her belongings collateralized her mortgage? Sure, uh huh. Solid grounds for a lawsuit. She’ll own her house free and clear shortly.
Did they shoot her dog?
Nah they ain't "THAT" stupid.
Someone shoots a dog around here and they know its time to move somewhere else (Like Cuba) cause they will be forever looking over their shoulder for the rest of their very short lives if they stay in Southern Ohio.
Sure wants to make you hand out hand grenades at the front door, don’t it?
No one is on the side of the bank except for a few close relatives of the guy who refused to pay the 18K and they know their particular gravy train is gonna suffer because of this idiot's stance.
I went to school with him and let us just say he was not what we call "gifted with common sense."
“Shell own her house free and clear shortly.”
Heck, she really ought to end up owning the bank if she gets the right lawyer. Ok, she and the lawyer will end up owning the bank, but that’s good enough.
Ohio Ping
I hope some lawyer gets enough to pay off her mortgage, a few million for invasion of privacy PLUS his cut.
“Sure wants to make you hand out hand grenades at the front door, dont it?”
Yeah, just proves that banks are $h1T outfits no matter where you live. I hope she has a pit bull for a lawyer!
The President of sky bank and his wife have both been charged with wire fraud crimes out of Bryan Ohio too. that’s what I heard anyways.
I know where you live. Why the heck are you living there ?
Job prospects are near zero. Not much to do for entertainment. Cost of living is cheap but that is about it.
All she wants even given the circumstances is $18,000 and the bank won’t pay? Her request seems unreasonably low. I’d want something more punitive to teach them not to do this again.
I believe the reason there are no criminal charges is that there was no “guilty mind.” She will have a solid civil case and perhaps Ohio needs to tighten up its laws. What is posted above about Florida is a good start. And maybe establishing some sort of negligence crime.
The day may come when people like this bank president are held accountable for his actions. Too many people, these days, routinely rip people off and defraud them with no fear of any consequences. The law, in a weird way, is on their side and they know it.
Basically, the bank and whoever they sent over there, committed a burglary, by breaking into the house. And then, theft by conversion for selling her stuff and keeping the proceeds. And for the chief of police to say that the case is closed is more fraud. Shows that he is complicit in the act or is just a lazy POS.
Its a shame, but it seems like no one has anymore honor or integrity.
The bank representative committed a burglary. Pure and simple.
Sad, yes. Very sad.
No she has to get dragged thru court, which I’m sure is going to be very lenient on the bank and railroad her into getting screwed, again.
So, the bank broke in and stole her property. Criminal acts AND grounds for a civil suit.
If they did it to her, they have probably done it to others and gotten away with it.
