Ive often pondered the question, why are white people so touchy about being called out for racism?
I know some of you will say that racism is much more than the hurtful prejudice of a marginal few. Agreed. Racism is also inherited structural and political inequity by race resulting in persistent poverty, health disparities, and deficits of opportunity in communities of color. And as with all kinds of oppression, racism is ultimately kept in place by violence and the threat of violence (think in terms of lynchings, cross-burnings, KKK raids, etc. throughout our history). Simple prejudice seems pretty minor by comparison.
However, the powerful effect of white peoples touchiness on this subject should not to be underestimated. In fact, I think it goes hand in hand with the threat of violence in perpetuating racism.
For instance, racial inequality nowadays relies more heavily on the intimidation and violence of the war on drugs and immigration enforcement than on the terrorism of vigilante groups. But, racist immigration and drug enforcement policies are founded on the widespread popularity of racial stereotypes that falsely criminalize black men as the source of the illegal drug problem in the U.S., and immigrants of color as drains on our economy. In other words, ordinary prejudice is as much a part of the oppressive equation for communities of color as violence and intimidation, and the fact that these ordinary forms of prejudice are expressed through major public institutions is possible because we deny that these stereotypes are grounded in prejudice at all.
We need to marginalize ordinary racist stereotypes and behavior, and this starts with calling racism out, even when those guilty of it get touchy because they are unable to recognize their acts as racist.
But, why so touchy?

Untwist your panties. I think he has a point.
And that right there is the entire reason why the "race card" is such a powerful weapon for the left. They want to control every thing about our lives and thinking.
When every white person is one, it is meaningless. They all think that and are all taught that. As well as they can’t be racist. It is so sickeningly wicked and wrong but it sure plays well on the liberal plantation.
But to answer the author's question, back when it meant something else, it was used as a verbal cudgel to beat a debater into silence and compliance.
Now, of course, it has become meaningless.
It is an excellent point.
The author, Nakagawa...a Japanese surname. Might Scotty be projecting his own hostility, resentment, and racism here as well?
Liberals are about as subtle as a runaway freight train.
I do agree with him on one point: we’ve built a structural racism into our society designed to keep, among others, the black man down.
That’s why I normally refer to “social welfare” as economic slavery.
And that’s why I’m so opposed to it. It’s entrenched and generational racism disguised as both charity and government policy.
Calling someone a racist amounts to the same thing as calling them a racial invective(*). It is used to define their entire being by a single characteristic.
(*) invective - abusive or venomous language used to express blame or censure or bitter deep-seated ill will.
Importantly, some people also adopt such labels voluntarily, because they *want* to define their entire being by just that one thing. Good examples are (some) homosexuals and (most) fanatics. This shows they have a small and petty reality, in which want to they define everything and everyone with labels.
However, normal people reject such defining labels, because they think of themselves as complex beings with many interests and motivations.
Bingo
I love your tagline.
It is a perfectly valid question in response to such a question that hate being called racists. If they throw around such a name as ‘racist’ and ask why then what is wrong with responding with such as stupid question as why do they hate being called names?
Too bad you run from liberals and let them set the debate.
The most harmful and dangerous of all culures is the white leftist academia culture.

Exactly.
Exactly. Libs (and even politically correct Conservatives) have made racism to be the greatest crime in a world history. If a guy holds negative thoughts of certain races based on statistical, historical, and anecdotal evidence, even of he never acts to discriminate based on those thoughts, he is considered worse than a rapist or murderer in the eyes of the overly politically correct. Of course, then, someone doesn't want to be falsely accused of being society's most undesirable figure. The racism racket is the triumph of Cultural Marxist brainwashing over logic.
That’s a good question. I couldn’t care less.
One should be meekly accepting when falsely accused?
Because the people making the accusations are the biggest racists on the planet, and don't know any other argumentative style beyond charging racism.
I feel the same way as you. I have eyes, and when I either see or meet a person, I can see if they are black, white, brown, or yellow. I also can see their physical appearance, which also makes a mark. But after just a short time talking with that person, all color or whatever you see is gone and the person comes out. And it it’s the person who matters.
Years ago,, I was taking a class, and one young teen male student from Europe came in dressed all in black, pierced ears, and his hair was combed in an unusual way. ( aamof, his hair style changed every day.) So what kind of kid was this? Way out Goth? After just a few minutes of listening to him, he was an intelligent, well-spoken, engaging kid. We became friends and as I got to know him I realized he was also a staunch conservative.
That kid happened to be white, but the same sort of thing has happened with black people.
Why does the word “racism” have to enter into it,-——— except to make trouble.
