7/2/13
Posted on 07/02/2013 6:11:35 PM PDT by pabianice
Trying to access realclearpolitics on a laptop. Initially accesses, then get error message "This page cannot be displayed," then page locks out with error message.
Anyone know how to solve this? No other site affected.

It is either your laptop or the site. If you can come here you are most likely have internet access. So I would go with site problems. Well unless you are at work. That is a whole netter kettle of fish to fry. Do you like fried fish?

I suppose it’s too late to ask why you would want to do that to yourself....

When I go to realclearpolitics.com, an ad page pops up, then I have to click on a little arrow to go to the site, then it’s OK the rest of the time.
What might be happening is that you may have a pop-up blocker on, which blocks its pop-up and you don’t get the chance to go to the site.
Go to Tools, Internet Options, Privacy and see if you have “turn on popup blocker” selected. Try unchecking that box and try again.
Another thing you might try is to go to Tools, Internet Options, Security Tab, click-on trusted sites, click on Sites and add realclearpolitics.com.
I hope this helps.

Problem solved. Was using a too old version of a browser.
