My response was based on the comments of other posters who live in SD and said it wasn’t any slower that day than on any other day (of the week, I assumed).
Maybe SD is different, because my experience on my local highways and byways is that any time around lunch is usually a traffic nightmare.
I just saw this thread and was going to ping you to it!
Although I have made the claim that the RALLY didn't cause the jam, I think the word 'jam' should be defined better. My concern was that the media tried to make it sound like it completely stopped traffic. I think it was more like when there's a police car on the side of the road giving a ticket. Traffic slows a bit, backs up for a ways, but it isn't stopped. If it was a 10 mile backup, how much of a backup does it have when there is no RALLY going on ?
I was told that traffic was passing through at a pace that wasn't beyond the normal 'extremes' of any other day.
I still don't think it was as bad as they are trying to portray. But... if I'm wrong, isn't that a GOOD THING ?
You get second prize for the Most Truthful, Most Intelligent, and Most Accurate Statement of the day. You would have gotten first prize, but you misspelled one word.
And KUDOS on the lack of profanity.
I heard there's a thing called Google. Don't know if it works, though.
I would have given you the best response of the day, but you failed when you acted as though you were the chief of spelling police and president of the local homeowners association. Stop being such an azz. .
Get some more input before you just accept what I said. I tried to convey that I got it from someone who SAID they were familiar with SD traffic. That's called hearsay in court, and for a very good reason.
There's a poster on here who says it's not backed up at that time of day.
Maybe it was the way I worded it and my view of the word 'jam'. For instance, traffic in California , in general is totally different from traffic anywhere else (on the planet).
Let's agree that the RALLY probably slowed down or backed up traffic more than normal, but no more than a police car on the side of the road. Assuming that it did, that just meant more people had a chance to see it without crashing into other cars.
Drivers got an education without a punishment, how bad could that be ?
My concern is that the media tried to make it look like a bad thing, because of WHO/WHAT the Rally was about.
People forget CA was solidly “R” for decades. Gave us Ronald Reagan...
This traffic stop protest seems too much like a liberal tactic. Conservatives actually head to jobs or church.
You can make a political point without holding up traffic for hours and annoying even those who support you.
And while that's going, the TRAYVON JUSTICE LEAGUE will be burning the houses, and the Muslims will be burning the churches, and There'll be a hot time In the old town tonight.
And when was this ? You mean the Spelling Nazi and Town idiot comment ? Was that on this thread?
I heard there's a thing called Google. Don't know if it works, though.
I've looked through a couple of pages of results, and have yet to find any contact data for the Overpasses group, other than Facebook.
After I posed the question about this on the DFW area group, a couple of folks chimed in about building websites for the group. Maybe someone will chime in with good contact data for state coordinators and such.
Will do!
Heh....thanks!
Yeah, that's been working just peachy keen for us since Obama arrived, hasn't it?
It was meant as a joke. I didn’t know if it would work, as I said.
But I appreciate you finding out and passing on that info.
I learned one more thing today.
Even if I was a complete azz, I could never hold a candle to you, dear brother.
I used to live in Carlsbad, just off Tamarack, until the mid 90s when we moved to Arizona. Way to go, Teapartiers!
you don't know how to take a compliment?
Oh.... by the way. The other tenants wanted me to ask you... You always put "BS" at the beginning of your replies. Are those your initials, or what ?
Most posters put their initials at the end. FYI.
