Who is Edward Snowden? (And the Real Reason Government Fears Him)
self | J. Johnson

With all the banter going around concerning this ‘rouge element’, we need to take an honest look at what information has been revealed and more important - what makes this leaked information so damaging, and why Snowden is so dangerous?

They fear the IRS more (especially with Obastardcare coming), and this story just chased it off the front pages. This redounds to Obastard’s benefit no matter how you choose to spin it. He smiles.

Snowden is still a traitor

The one I remember most, among others, is Philip Agee. From what I have been able to get out of it, is that people got killed because of Agee. Is Snowden different than Agee? I do not know yet, but if it can be shown that his information gets people killed, then he is no hero, though spying on innocent Americans is dead wrong. I wonder how this will work out in the coming weeks and months?

Lots of libs and a majority of all citizens don't like NSA spying on citizens.

"Spinning this" my foot.

The IRS, Benghazi, NSA and all the rest are serious government abuses and they all have one thing in common. Unconstitutional government power. Each one of these abuses doesn't chase away the other abuses. They instead magnify the other abuses.

“America has become a surveillance state and if you will – a police state.”

Actually, the data collection started long before the NSA was formed. Driver’s licenses started the database. I think that the database of American citizens started in the 1910s or 1920s, whenever driver’s licsenses became the law of the land albeit state-by-state.

I agree with that. What we have here is “scandal fratricide.” There are so many scandals going on, none of them will get the individual attention it deserves and Obastard will skate on all of them. That’s my prediction, FWIW.

“There is NO freedom of speech to tell something you were given under secrecy orders.”

It has never been tried in a court-of-law. Exposing secrets when the secrets were breaking U.S.A. laws is a very solid grey color.

Daniel Ellsberg exposed secrets that broke U.S.A. laws. The government tried to destroy him but he never faced a trial.

“scandal fratricide.”
_______________

It seems the people are being played.

We have been spied on for a long time according to what I am finding (See below links from 1975). Of course some didn’t know because they were too young, the rest were “dumbed down”.

The “leak” by Snowden was planted, just like the leak for IRS scandal by Lois Lerner.

This is the next step in communism takeover – destabilization.

Ideological subversion
Demoralization
Destabilization
Crisis
Normalization

We’ve been hearing how much the government DOESN’T work and how it is BROKEN and must be FIXED. There wasn’t this sentiment before ….. It seems our country is so broken (destabilize)

“Snowden is pretty obviously in the pay of Red China. It’s shocking how many people have deluded themselves about this.”

Do you have innuendo that makes it obvious or do you have facts to share?

“(3) We still do not know the whole truth. We know only the part of the truth that Snowden’s handlers want us to see. A great American once said “trust but verify.” A snake like Snowden demands application of this principle. “

Please post factual evidence that Snowden has handlers - if you have it.

Snowden is no Paul Revere.

He's under the wing of communist China and communist Russia has offered him asylum. Very telling.

If you start labeling these types of people as heroes what will stop any Gov't employee from divulging classified info so they can be famous too?

Snowden is likely a OWS type and too many are being fooled.

So selling out your country's entire ELINT network and all it's personnel to a foreign country is OK since “we have the right to know everything about our Government does ...” ? I must have missed that Article or Amendment.

The guy was a Chinese plant and should be tried and shot for treason. But then the Chinese will likely take care of that lose end.

But at least you and they will know everything about everybody working for NSA, and all they do - by the leave of your newly found “right”. Which by the way does not exist as SCOTUS declared: only Treaty Rights are guaranteed by the Constitution - all others have privileges which can be revoked at any given time.

“Early this year someone who left the Ukraine in the 80s told me that it’s starting to feel like the Soviet Union. I didn’t prompt the comment. “

1. A guy I work with who grew up in communist Poland said this of Obama in 2008: “I know a commie when I see one. This is one”

2. Another coworker who came here from Russia after the fall of the Soviet Union agreed with that comment

3. Last summer, a friend of mine introduced me to us mother, who fled Nicaragua in 1978. Her words to me - “I left Nicaragua to escape the Marxists, yet I see the same thing now happening here. What is wrong with people?” I had no answer for her.

I work in a hospital with lots of foreign-born people. It’s amazing that the ones from Communist or formerly Communist countries ALL say THE SAME THING about Obama! Russia, Romania, Venezula,Poland etc. they all have the same opinion about what is happening here. Scary.

Yep. Then we get told its not valid because it's anecdotal evidence. As if we were trying to prove the efficacy of an erectile dysfunction drug to the FDA instead of tracking movement of a political system.

Contrary to what ole Ben is saying I don't think the issue is "a little temporary safety". If it were I would have a different opinion.

Rather...it's LOTS of LONG-TERM safety we're talking about. Big difference.

You think the government should map and characterize all our relationships with no probable cause?
