Public records prove that Barack Obama cheated on his federal income taxes in 2004

Well, well, well – look at what we have here.

Douglas A. Thompson writes at American Thinker: (the bolding is mine)

According to the Illinois Comptroller’s office, then-State Senator Obama received:

2004 State of IL compensation: $ 52,817.38 (salary)

$ 8,040.01 (leadership stipend)

$ 3,765.00 (per diem)

$ 2,400.00 (mileage)

Stipends for State of Illinois legislators are paid to Senators and Representatives by their respective minority or majority leader. These stipends are not used to support the legislator’s living costs, but are used by the leaders as bonuses. Stipends of this sort are taxable income, as they are given to enhance income.

Based on the information from the Illinois Comptroller’s Office, Barack Obama’s compensation for 2004 should be $60,857 income from the State of Illinois.

Statement 3, on Page 10 of the President’s 2004 U.S. Individual Income Tax Return, shows Barack and Michelle Obama’s income by source. It shows the “taxpayer” (T), Barack Obama, received $53,288 in wages from the Comptroller of the State of Illinois. This was compensation received for Barack Obama’s representation of the 13th District of Illinois as a State Senator.

Barack Obama won a US Senate race in 2004. The US Senate has Annual Financial Disclosure reports for all members. Then-Senator Barack Obama filed his 2004 report on June 5, 2005, exactly three months after his income tax return was completed. The 2004 Annual Financial Report, Barack Obama confirmed his salary compensation for the State of Illinois was $60,287.

In neither his U.S. Individual Income Tax Return, nor his Senate Annual Financial Report for 2004, does Barack Obama report his actual compensation from the State of Illinois. In both cases, Barack Obama has under-reported the income, as certified by the Illinois Comptroller’s Office.

(There’s more information and more links at the link, but I’ve quoted the most important parts.)

Wow!

All of this information comes from public records – the forms even have Obama’s signature on them!

This is big.

I would just so much love to hear Obama try to talk his way out of this one – in front of major network TV cameras – and without a teleprompter.

Thompson actually published that article in July 2012. As far as I know, no one had disputed or debunked it. But also, no one at any of the major news sources has reported it either.

I wish the major news media would do an investigation into this.

He was owed this or he did not make that or he got his downpayment on reparations.

Liberal mindset: Obama is an aggrieved minority so he is entitled to take as much as he can from The Man.

He’s part of the ruling class that doesn’t have to pay no stinking taxes.

hmmm ~ your contract computer tech who has to go out to your 'special site' on overnighters to fix stuff ~ doesn't pay taxes on his per diem or his travel.

So now he's part of the ruling class?

Who put this story together ~ it's as ignant as the similar story they did on Sarah Palin ~

I think people should read the IRS handbook on travel expenses first

Seriously? This is the best we can do? I don't think per Diem or mileage are taxable income. Not sure, but I don't think they are. So we are not talking very much money. Now Benghazi, Fast and furious, IRS, justice wiretapping the AP....”.. Those are scandals. This shows he sucks at math. But with his claim Insurance premiums will drop 3000%, when the reality is they Will rise 400%, is anyone surprised.

Per diem and travel aren’t taxed. They shouldn’t be, you are being reimbursed for expenses paid for in your money, which has already been taxed.

The leadership stipend is separate from per diem and travel. It is likely taxable, but must not have showed up on his W-2, thus he left it off of his 1040. His total scamming of us (taxpayers) here is probably less than his unpaid parking tickets in Mass.

The state isn't actually an employer when it comes to constitutional officers ~ so they pay to have the legislators arrive at the legislature!

The US federal government can't tax that expense.

Business dealings are also not taxed unless your employer says 'Here's a raise to pay for your gas and car' and then there's a formula. it's called $0.52 a mile, etc. Whole book on this stuff!
