1. Oh come on, it is never going to happen, my area is safe, I am safe.
2. I am convinced that everything is recoverable and my area will get back to normal quickly.
3. No matter how horrible it is, help will eventually come, I just have to wait it out.
4. Even if something happens, there are plenty of food and supplies for everyone in my city.
5. My state government, my community, my neighbors will not abandon me and let me starve.
6. I have a 3 day supply of food, the government and others tell me that this is plenty.
7. I have lots of credit cards, I will purchase anything I need in my city or nearby cities.
8. My water faucets will have water, even if it is temporarily shut off, they will not let us go thirsty.
9. There is no room to store supplies that will never be used anyway.
10. I cant rotate supplies, everything will get old and have to be thrown away.
11. I dont have extra money to store up anything for disasters.
12. It is too much work to bother with.
13. I have absolutely no idea what to store or how much.
14. I dont need any protection after a disaster, the police, national guard, military will protect us.
15. The power grid will come back on, until then I have LED flashlights that last forever.
16. Again and again I hear these fear mongers exaggerate the threat level, another false alarm.

What’s to stop them from selling that silver the next day. And buying apps or smokes or booze or dope?
Disaster can happen quickly and if you arent prepared, in some cases, you die. Suddenly, we have another serious threat to life that we didnt have a few days ago. Chinese scientists, in an animal lab, have made 127 new hybrid flu viruses. They took a lethal flu virus that does not pass to humans and combined it will one that does pass from human to human, making a hybrid that does pass from human to human. Five of these 127 hybrids are this lethal kind and its not known yet whether the other 122 can pass from human to human.
Scientists outside China don’t trust the security of this animal lab to be secure enough to prevent one of the deadly viruses accidently getting out of there. There is also the possibility of someone taking it out of the lab on purpose. If one of these viruses gets loose, it will be in this country within one plane trip coming here from China/Hong Kong.
Planes coming from China/Hong Kong to here, land at Los Angeles airport and I dont know if some now land farther up the west coast, like Seattle. I was in mainland China and to come back, flew from Hong Kong to Los Angeles.
California will be the first state infected (if no planes from China/Hong Kong lands farther north on the coast) with the other states becoming infected quickly as the people carrying it fly to other states. You would have to stay in place for probably four months to avoid getting this virus from people. Are you prepared to not come in contact with anyone but your family for four months at least?
When you hear the virus is here, its too late to reverse those 35 reasons for not preparing, and get prepared. For at least four months, you cant go to the grocery store.
I can lock my front door right now and not go out it for many months. Can you do this? What will you do with a lethal virus on the loose in our country and you have no preps? Do you think FEMA is going to come to your front door and leave food and water in front of your door? No, those FEMA people dont want to die, either, and theyre not coming to your door or anywhere else.
Hussein and his family will go underground through a tunnel from the White House to the bunker we have prepared for him that has water, food, and a medical doctor. We have prepared to save him but what about you? You are on your own and you need to prepare to save your family if you think your family is as important as Hussein.
38. I wouldn’t want to live after a collapse. I’d rather just die.
37. My neighbors are preppers they will feed me.
39. My neighbors are preppers they will feed me.
>>That’s why we’re looking into Tennesse or Kentucky to relocate to.<<
I left Providence, RI a little over 6 years ago and relocated to Kentucky - haven’t regretted it for a moment!
These relatives are my three sons ... and the only thing stopping them is their own good judgement. There are few people in this world I trust any more (JimRob being one of the few that immediately come to mind), but I do trust the judgment of those young men.
Your welcome Duke. ‘Bars’ is really a misnomer. They are really little squares in kinda a rectangle shape. (The ones I am familiar with). They are one ounce. They are factory pre-scored at 1/4 interval sizes so each little ‘bar’ has 4 quarters. They can be ‘broken’ up into those quarter ounces without tools.
Could be lots of reasons to hole up for a week or so. If there were rioting in my city, I’d not venture out unless necessary!
When I was doing the mountain man thing, I only saw a store once a month at best. 2 months wasn't an issue.

We have a good supply of stuff ready to assemble. My kids and their families are on board and ready to hunker down here. We have the space, and we welcome their resources.
In our area, we can hunt, we have seeds, ammo, well and pump, etc. We’ll make it. This is a preppers thread. Most of us are ready to go.
It’s the idiot you need ammo for. They’ll be no sweat to a prepared prepper.
I find that way of life intriguing. I’m not sure why. Perhaps it’s a good test of one’s stability.
If you aren't gardening now, it takes at least a year to ramp up. Seeds don't come with skill sets.

Why not just buy old silver dimes and quarters? You can buy them for the silver weight and a lot of coin shops. The place near me charges 5% above or below the spot price of the silver content when you buy/sell, which is not bad. Just remember a dollar worth of old coins is about 4/5 of an oz of silver.
It's just me, the clickity-clack of the keyboard, and the occasional drive-by lap takeover by one of the catz making that buzzing noise.

Kartographer would you ping everyone to this free kindle book at Amazon, I don’t know how long it will be free.
“”Survive A Catastrophe In Suburbia Without Firearms””
Never said not to, I just recommended looking into divisibles when starting out. Coins are great also, I hold a small fortune currently in them. My reloading room is packed with ‘precious metals’ also but that is another ‘investing’ story!!!
I only have 2 months extra blood pressure medicine, Plus the current vile. That’s the main issue. I do need to get some more cipro etc. and masks.
