Carville's Panicked Dog Whistle to the Left: STOP Ted Cruz WHILE YOU STILL CAN...

Commence w/ the Palin treatment, evilmonkeys!

Some people might be startled to hear Democratic strategist James Carville out there on ABC's This Week (with fellow Clinton alum Stephanopouos)
-the 'progressive' home field- praising conservative rising-star Ted Cruz up-and-down like this- yet it appears that's precisely the reaction he was looking for:

'I think he is the most talented and fearless Republican politician I’ve seen in the
last 30 years.

I further think that he’s going to run for president and he is going to create something.

... I’ve listened to excerpts of his speech in South Carolina.

He touches every button, and this guy has no fear. He just keeps plowing ahead. And he is going to be something to watch... if there's one thing this guy ain't, it's squishy.'

Obviously JC's not trying to drive interest in -or money towards- Sen Ted Cruz (R-Texas) by pointing out the guy who did so much to kill Obama's gun bill is gifted-
and sure to be moving-on to bigger and better things as opportunity presents itself. We can all see that.

What Carville's doing is sounding an alarm to the left's MSM/new media attack machine: IT'S TIME to rip into Cruz just as fast as you can concoct a disingenuous narrative to do it with. Then wash, rinse, repeat until November 2016... same way you tore Palin to shreds in most leftists', many Republicans', and 99% of uninformed idiots' eyes over the last four years.

As might be expected, Demo-socialists in the most dire career situation are usually the most loyal left-wing attack dogs in such character assassination campaigns, happy to help nuke a good person's honor in a craven attempt to keep themselves relevant/employed another week.

In this case, corrupt, perverted former NM Governor Bill Richardson promptly spewed these gems: Cruz is 'uncivil' and 'rude', and 'sort of the Republicans' latest flavor'. But the cherry on the sundae has got to be 'I don't think he should be defined as a Hispanic, he's a politician... from a conservative state'

But your name is Richardson- and you ARE 'Hispanic enough'?

Just like Allen West shouldn't be defined as 'black'- seems his mind just ain't right, IS IT you racist slob?

You are mistaken, and Ted Cruz has already spoken to this and in effect, has told you so.

Carville may have some high thinking on Cruz, but I suspect what is also going on here is the desire to get Cruz to fall into the typical trap. Believe the good things people say about you in the media, get all buddy buddy with them and then they drop the hammer when the timing is right.

For any conservative who is spoken highly of by liberal media, the critical thing to avoid is becoming chummy with them because they say nice things about you. You can be pretty certain after the handshake the shank will be the next thing to come.

Watch Cruz closely over the next year or so. Lets see if an uptick in appearances on TV begins to correspond with a softening of his stances, something we have seen all too often.

Does anyone here besides me, remember the bloodletting and flame wars on Free Republic from the last election cycle? When every candidate was savaged beyond the point of electability?

In the eyes of certain FReepers, Reagan was a RINO - he cut and ran from Lebanon, gave amnesty to illegals, and raised taxes. In their eyes, HE’S JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

In the eyes of certain FReepers, Jesus Christ was a RINO - He befriended and forgave tax collectors, advised people to pay their taxes to the government, and consorted with known prostitutes. In their eyes, HE’S JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

So ask yourself, why did we end up with Willard as the GOPe nominee? Because in the case of every conservative candidate, the cry rang out on every thread: YOUR GUY’S JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

The FReeper’s Definition of Conservative: “I'm not sure, but whatever it is, it sure as hell ain’t YOUR GUY!!!”

Cruz spokesman Sean Rushton has informed the media of Cruz’s belief in what natural born means. The modern day equivilant of the Founders “natural born” is “citizen by birth”, which is distinctive from “citizen by naturalization”.

Ted Cruz, and many legal scholars (of which Ted is one, having clerked for William Rehnquist and argued cases before the Supreme Court), say there are two types of citizens: one, citizen at the time of birth, two, citizen later by the naturalization process.

Now you can make demands and claims and weep and wail and accuse all you want. HE has already spoken to what he believes this means. So what can you do now? You COULD pound sand... Just sayin’...

Spokesman: ‘Senator Ted Cruz is a U.S. citizen by birth’

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2995704/posts

Just to flesh it out a little more, Cruz knows the circumstances of his birth and has researched this matter. His claim of citizenship by birth is based on the fact that he attained citizenship based on his mother’s citizenship. The fact that she happened to be working in Canada the day of his birth is meaningless. He wasn’t a Canadian citizen the day of his birth, he wasn’t a man without a country the day of his birth, he was a citizen of the United States that day, therefore he never needed to become a citizen by naturalization.

All natural born means is that when born, you are a citizen. That you don’t need to become one later by being naturalized. And if you have to become one later by being naturalized, you cannot run for President of the United States.

Comes as a total shock to you, I’m sure, but isn’t shocking at all to those who know this.

I remember the last election and I almost left FR because of it (not that I would be missed). I also stopped donating to FR as a protest because my anger and disgust went right to the top.

Once you get Cruz and Rubio and Perry and Brownback and Paul and Palin and Santorum and Bachmann and a couple of others all vying for the same segment of the base it's impossible to tell who will wind up on top.

Chris Christie, after the conservatives split their votes.

Unfortunately you may well be right. Or someone worse.

If Ted Cruz is claiming he was a born citizen, I have no problem with that, but if he, as a Constitutional scholar, claims that a born citizen is identical to a natural born Citizen then he is claiming that the founders inserted a silly meaningless word into a critical, fundamental part of the Constitution. Does he think the American people are that stupid? There are millions of conservative voters who, although they love his tough politics and love Ted Cruz as a senator, would never vote for a presidential ticket with him on it.

His only viable option to win over these voters would be to acknowledge these very legitimate doubts, but point out that because this did not stop aka obama from being elected, an apparent state of Constitutional dissonance exists that can only be cleared by an open, honest national debate by the people, the press and in Congress and then formally brought to the supreme court for resolution. Of course, since the jobs of the two aka obama appointees there would be on the line, they absolutely would have to recuse themselves from taking any part in the proceedings.

When well over 90 percent of the population are unquestionably natural born Citizens per the strict blood-and-dirt definition, why can't we just pick a president who is one of those? (President Palin, yes; presidents Cruz, Rubio, Haley or Santorum, no freaking way am I voting for one of those while this issue is left in limbo...)
