From people upset at being kept awake by explosions and helicopters to conspiracy-minded theorists with their own explanations, Tinley Park citizens were outspoken on the Defense Department's urban training exercises. Read what they had to say.

The U.S. Department of Defense's two-night stint of urban training exercises on the grounds of the closed Tinley Park Mental Health Center ended early Thursday.
The highlight of the final night, which began Wednesday, April 24, and went until about 1 a.m. Thursday, April 25, were numerous flyovers from military helicopters using the village's helipad. And even though the drills were being staged in Tinley Park, residents in neighboring Frankfort, Mokena and even as far away as New Lenox reported seeing and hearing the helicopters overhead.
While the exercises were staged in Tinley Park, it was actually the State of Illinois, which has jurisdiction over the mental health center, that gave approval for the Defense Department's drills, according to Tinley Park officials.....

Yet another in an ever-increasing number of urban military ‘exercises’. I find this trend to be highly disturbing.
PING!!
Too bad I missed it! My office used to right across the street from this location...literally.
Train the way you mean to fight... Fight the way you were trained.
A key piece of information I didn’t see was; who were the “enemy combatants” portrayed as? Middle easterners? Urban youths? Rural Rednecks? Hmmmm?
In this case it seems like they’ll be fighting Americans.
What Good Can a Handgun Do Against An Army?

I remember back around 15 years ago when somebody on talk.politics.guns posted a story about this kind of thing happening in Peebles, Ohio.
I wrote to my congress-critter asking him to look into it. Turns out it was BS. This may be too.
They have been doing this in sereval cities
The government of the United States of America means to make war against its citizens.
Took me 10 seconds to find all these below. Which “Google” are you using?

“...the closed Tinley Park Mental Health Center...”
Question: Closed for repairs or closed because the state gubmint wants the mentally ill on the streets of America?
Usually weapons dealers.
Seems like they need to work on their tactics. Have a firefight with two guys, only one of which apparently has a pistol. Let one of them get away. Even though reportedly you have cell phone tracking data to follow the guys in their vehicle.
Then shut down an entire city, and mobilize perhaps 1000 or more LEOs from all over the area, plus helicopters, etc. to try to find a wounded, unarmed, teenager. Spend an entire day looking, raiding houses with teams of 20 LEOs in full SWAT mode, but forget to just look around the neighborhood.
Spend a lot of time securing a press conference area with EOD teams, bomb sniffing dogs, etc. so the police commissioner can tell the media that the LEOs lost the teenager.
Lift the "stay in your house" order, and then get a phone call from some local guy who simply walked out of his house and found the guy all those truckloads of SWAT team guys couldn't find in 14 hours of looking.
I'm as glad as anybody that the terrorists got killed and/or caught, but if the response we saw in Boston by the government is any measure of the capabilities of the people who planned it, they learned a set of very ineffective techniques.
There was one not long ago in Minneapolis as well.
Thanks. I have no idea why my search results didn’t show those.
Move along.
