On Thursday night [Friday morning] at 12:45am EST. I was in my living room working on my computer when I heard multiple “pops” coming from outside. At that point, I had no idea that I was about to become an eye witness to the biggest news story in the country.
When I looked outside my window, I could clearly see two people (the Tsarnaev brothers) taking cover behind an SUV and engaging in gunfire. After witnessing shots being fired I promptly ran up the stairs to my 3rd floor bedroom to distance myself a little further away from the gunfire. As I ran into my room, overwhelmed by shock, adrenaline, and curiosity, I jumped onto my bed to stay below the windows but also have a clear view at the shooters and photograph the event. As soon as I was laying safely on my bed I started taking pictures with my iPhone 5 and captured the following images that documented the terrifying shootout with the Tsarnaev brothers, which then led to an overnight citywide manhunt.

Here are the two brothers taking cover behind the black Mercedes SUV and shooting towards Watertown Police officers. (Taken at 12:46:11AM)

The shooters were also driving the green sedan on the left. They had the back passenger door open and were going back into the car where they had additional supplies (assumingly, more ammunition and explosives). They also had backpacks at their feet where they also had additional supplies.
This is a view from the west-facing window in my bedroom and at the end of the block (Laurel St.) you can see multiple police vehicles. These vehicles were about 75-80 yards from the shooters. (Taken at 12:46:25AM)

Thanks nutmeg, these pictures helped me better understand some of the news reports I had read. Particularly about the second car, the green Honda.
Same here... there was a lot of confusion over a "Honda CRV" that was mentioned on the Boston police scanner. I think they meant Honda Civic, and it was green. I believe that was later corrected, but I still didn't understand where the green Honda fit in the overall picture.
I didn't fully comprehend that a second vehicle was used during this shootout / car chase until I saw these pictures (and heard the Watertown, MA police chief interviewed by Greta Van Sustern last night). Some of the puzzle pieces are starting to fit...
Exactly... I remember your previous ping to me with the question: How did they transport the cache of weapons, including another pressure cooker bomb, and several "pipe bombs", with them to that "carjacked" SUV. These photos seem to answer that question.
Thanks for the ping!
You're very welcome, FRiend... ;-)
Thanks again for finding this info and posting it here on FR. These photos answer a lot of questions... there were lots of holes in the timeline during this period during that long Thursday night/ early Friday morning.
I don’t see a pic of him running his brother over? Did that happen or not? Very confusing.
You’re most welcome. I got the heads up about it from a Michelle Malkin tweet. :-)

“LOL To be real honest; Id probably do it less out of civic duty than the sentiment that you dont pull that kind of crap outside my house. Just personal security. No more perps no more gun fire. Get off of my lawn!
Ha!! I nominate this for Post of the Day!
"Hey, you! Yeah, you with the explosives and guns. Knock off that noise out there!"
Let's just say that one of those people crouching behind a vehicle is an innocent hostage.
So who was driving the green car? The dead terrorist or some other terrorist. We know that the “Jokar” was driving the other car, at one point anyway, as that is the one he killed his brother with.
I only own a couple of rifles, the 10/22 would have stayed in the closet as I pulled out my Scout Squad, wound the scope up to 8 and cycled the op rod once. Time to drill some 30 caliber holes. Betcha I hit paydirt at that range.
The expensive cars belonged to their wealthy friends, who apparently used the brothers as gofers.
Why were they stopped there? Is that a dead end street?
Is this guy the only guy in the world not using his iPhone for video ?
