I thought there must be something wrong with my news feed: Obamas ratings have been consistently among the most polarized for a president in the last 60 years.
And there was - it was actually an old feed, from way last year. Heres the latest take on the polarization problem: its all Maggies fault.
Thats right, it turns out, Margaret Thatcher is responsible for all of todays rancorous polarization, along with all of the assorted political derangement syndromes.
To the many accomplishments for which the late Margaret Thatcher is now rightly being celebrated, let us add one that is usually less remarked but no less remarkable: she inaugurated the era of modern political polarization.
So shes the one we can blame for the current lack of civility in Washington D.C.!?! Interesting.
Although I must say, thats a relief because I was beginning to suspect that some of Big Guys own words, like, My administration is the only thing between you and the pitchforks might have been contributing to the great divide.
Let me be clear, I am the Polar Bear, you are the seal.
So its good to hear that it wasnt Big Guys own words that set the Big Chill in motion. After all, its not as if he came right out and said stuff like:
Liberals are changing America but it cannot be Liberal America alone that changes,
Instead of celebrating our dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where Liberals have shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.
But in America, there is an anti-Liberalism that is at once casual, but can also be insidious. Instead of recognizing the good that Liberals so often does in the country, there have been times where Conservatives choose to blame Liberals for much of what is bad.
No, let the record reflect that he was actually talking about Europe. And that make sense, as it was actually Lady Thatcher who polarized the Left and the Right in the first place. Had it not been for her polarizing rhetoric we would not still be dealing with all of the these divisive issues of today.
Indeed, thanks to Maggie Thatcher theres virtually no issue that Big Guys team cant find a way to demagogue by demonizing Republicans. Its a gift, Harry.
My suggestion: Conservatives should just step aside. History is not on their side. If they cant grab a mob and help us clean up this mess, they should just get out of Big Guys way so he can run the country they way he sees fit; without the Constitution. Because after all, dont you find the Constitution to be a little dismissive, at times even derisive?
We dont need no stinkin Constitution
As I understand it, the City Council of New Rochelle, New York. has already done away with the First Amendment by demanding Veterans to take down their Gadsden Flag; and Bill Maher has called for the elimination of the Second Amendment. So were well on our way.
This is the problem with the gun debate is that its a constant center-right debate. Theres no left in this debate. Everyone on the left is so afraid to say what should be said which is the Second Amendment is bullst. Why doesnt anyone go at the core of it?
Im Bill Maher, and Ill use my First Amendment right to tell you what parts of the Constitution apply to you, got it?

We’re all miserable racists. Forget the fact that we* elected him twice. We’re miserable racists.
*well, not “us” we, but “them” we
also the most golfist, most brilliantist, and most socialist
What a bunch of bullcrap....LBJ did it when he smeared his way into relection in 1964 against Goldwater.
“To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize” Voltaire
Wow. That means OBAMA all the time. Also reminds me of our ACU/CPAC leaders who wouldn’t allow any criticism of radical islamists running the show.

“To the many accomplishments for which the late Margaret Thatcher is now rightly being celebrated, let us add one that is usually less remarked but no less remarkable: she inaugurated the era of modern political polarization.”
Takes two sides to “polarize”. The internal implication here that more than one idea results in a polarized condition is typical of the angry, intransigent Left.
In other news... Earth orbits around the sun!!
I, nor anyone I know had *anything* to do with electing that George Soros sock monkey into the White House.
Clinton I detested, but this Socialist POC I absolutely hate.
I’m going to guess that it is his declared fatwah against the 60% +- of the country that actually contributes—pays taxes—rather than milking the system: in othrr words, his people.
Finishing up taxes, wondering if a NORK nuclear strike would cause the IRS to give us another day ....
I even footnoted the “we” just to clarify that I didn’t mean “us”
I frankly don't give a damn' about being called a racist anymore. I laugh and move on. If hating socialists/marxists (I'd argue Obama's actually a FASCIST) is racist, then so be it. I just don't care.
When the left is challenged by the right, the left screams polarization.
When the right sticks together on an issue it’s called partisanship.
When the left sticks together on an issue it’s called solidarity.
You can thank the left wing pressholes in the media today for the divisiveness in our political discourse.
Why do you direct traffic off site?
Surely you're not just another filthy blogpimp.
There must be an excellent reason for you to be directing traffic away from Free Republic.
What is that reason?
Thanks NOBO2012. Have a great day, all!
The worst thing that can happen to a newspaper or ANY news organization is to be OUT OF TOUCH... The Washington Post and New York Times are OUT OF TOUCH with American who are NOT liberal elites, college students, college professors and government employees.
In short, the MSM is out of touch with about 90% of the population. On the lighter brighter side they probably won some Pulitzer Prizes - and that should make up for the respect they've lost from readers.
