I’ve often wondered, if the SHTF and you cannot get a scrip from your Dr., are there any OTC veternarian antibiotics that would be effective for human use?
To: Rushmore Rocks
All those listed on this post.

What is the best storage method for the longest possible shelf life of antibiotics? Arid and humid. Anybody know?

Just order anti biotics like Cipro and Amoxicillin from the Canadian Pharmacy online. I do it and its made in FDA approved labs. The govt does not stop the shipments unless you are trying to get Oycontin or something like that.

An acquaintance of mine is a doctor and was a pharmaceutical researcher at Johns Hopkins. He told me all antibiotics become toxic with age and lose their antibiotic power.

Being sick is no fun.
Being sick in a survival situation can be deadly.
So you should run at least one trial run when you are sick as a dog just so you know what to expect.
I have (unexpectedly) been running such a test for the past couple of week. I now know that I should have at least a week and preferably a month worth of things set up so I can survive with very little physical effort.
Right now chopping wood, grinding grain and other things that normally I can do easily would be very difficult. Five days ago it would have been impossible.

Thanks for the tip. I’ve suffered from infections in the past, when I couldn’t afford to see a doctor.

“are there any OTC veternarian antibiotics that would be effective for human use?”
The answer is NO. Because people were doing this years ago, the FDA made all vet medicine available only by vet prescription.
HOWEVER, as Kartographer suggested, get the fish ones, same quality as human ones, made in the same plants according to a doctor into these things.
When you decide what you want, look on the web for the dosage of the medicine and print it so you will have it with the medicine.
