Confiscation of private property is a declaration of war.

I really have no reason to question this, but there is such a huge litany of government abuses, that they have to be considered on a piecemeal basis.

For example, in this case, just the changes to banking and financial laws in the past 10 years could create a summary just as long, and just as outrageous, without any significant overlap with this list. But most of them were made separately instead of in a blanket bill.

Comparatively, the Nuremberg Laws were bundled like the Patriot Act I and II. But even after, the Nazis kept making new laws, often but not exclusively on Hitler’s initiative as effectively a dictator, but always with his approval.

The odds of a clandestine operation recede based on the number of individuals involved. And even faster if some of them are civilians.

That after a week or two, there is only one source for this conspiracy theory, and an unnamed source at that, its cred is so low that it might not pass Weekly World News standards.

That once source would then be, of course, Bat Boy.

“he DHS memo also stated that any bank employee that tells customers or members of the media of about the clandestine action “will be grounds for the immediate termination of the said employee or employees and their prosecution under the Patriot Act.”

I'd do it anyway -- and then bring up the DHS (and the bank if they complied) on civil and criminal charges.

Termination is comparatively minor, but there’s the threat of prosecution as well.

Termination for refusing to abridge the 4th Amendment? It would be a felony to comply: 18 USC S241/242.

The Constitution is quite clear, and DHS can no more conduct warrantless searches and seizures than BATFE can infringe on our right to keep and bear arms.

Just like the Constitution is quite clear on the absolute prohibition of congress to enact laws concerning speech and press.. yet, thanks to the "you can't shout fire! in a crowded theater" ruling from the Supreme Court they can, and do. (e.g. hate-speech laws.)
