Obama’s Last Budget Offer To Boehner (Adds $7.3 Trillion in Debt And Gets Rid Of Sequester)

The Obama Administration has posted their last budget offer to House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH).

The Republicans on the Senate Budget Committee have a different take on the President’s budget:

Obama’s budget turns off the sequester, adds stimulus extension, $50 billion in transportation spending and universal pre-K (better known as government baby sitting centers). And by getting rid of the sequester ($1 trillion), they propose cuts in discretionary spending of $100 billion only.

In addition, Obama’s budget plan, to be unveiled April 10th (the same day that North Korea is threatening to nuke us), would prohibit taxpayers from accumulating more than $3 million in an individual retirement account. That proposal would allegedly generate $9 billion in revenue for the Treasury over the next decade.

So, Obama wants to get rid of any constraints on government spending (aka, the sequester). Here is Federal current expenditures adjusted for GDP.

Obama’s budget adds another $7.3 trillion and reduces the deficit by a measly $280 billion?

We are already over 100% Federal debt to GDP! And they want to borrow more … like Japan?

I think that is an offer than Boehner CAN refuse.

I think there was a running gag in the Flintstones, where Fred is making deals with the news delivery boy to get his news slate delivered. Fred thinks he is getting ripped off by paying too much for his Sunday news media, so the delivery kid offers to deliver the daily news media for a slightly higher price per issue, and throw in the Sunday edition for free. But the total price for the week is now HIGHER than the old price, but Fred thinks he is getting a “deal”.

Until Barney takes Fred through the arithmetic, then Fred rages back at the delivery boy, who then offers to charge about half the regular price for the Sunday issue, but reduces the price a little for the daily issues. Fred STILL ends up paying a higher total price for the week.

Every time Fred tried to negotiate with the delivery boy, he ended up paying more and more.

Here’s the reality

Zero believes all problems are solved via routine adjustment to the money supply via QE. (ie printing money)

He also believes endless rounds of QE whenever needed does not present a problem.

We either have a madman or a dunce (or both) running the government.

I'll go with both. It's the worst case scenario.

We are already over 100% Federal debt to GDP!

We have one in five Americans on Food Stamps or Social Security Disability.

We are spending more on unemployment this year than the Sequester costs this year for the DoD (which is paying for 50% of all Sequester cuts).

We have over 70 direct payment Welfare programs.

According the Politico, the Republicans don't want to take on Entitlement programs either.

And it is the Republicans who agreed and want to continue the cuts to the Defense budget.

There aren't any "good guys" in DC anymore.

Both parties are sold out to special interests and focused on maintaining their own power. The do not represent the people. Let’s not pretend they do.

The system is ready for a reset. I fear it will be painful and violent.

OK, so people with $9 mil in retirement savings will just split that into 3 separate IRAs. How will that save the Treasury geniuses any money?

Easy. You’re only allowed a max of one IRA per family.
