What Makes a Good Bug-Out Location?
The Shooters Log ^ | 3/23/13 | CTD Blogger

Posted on 03/23/2013 12:53:07 PM PDT by Kartographer

I’m going to tell you a true story, but to protect my friend’s privacy and OPSEC—as all good preppers should do—I’m going to remain as anonymous as possible. I’m telling you because I believe in helping people and I like to imagine a world after SHTF where we help each other rather than hinder each other, so here it goes… I recently had the opportunity to visit a friend’s bug-out property. What started out as a dream for land outside of the city for a nice get-away to keep animals and a shooting range turned into the perfect place to start a bug-out plan in motion.

A little a time. They usually allow you to order when yo still have a week or so to go. I keep 2 weeks at any given time (more for travel emergencies), but I am thinking about just continuing (and rotating of course) until I have a month of the most important ones (will take a few months).

Sarge, broken yardstick says on post 51, I will be dead and my brains eaten the first day the country goes down.

He doesn't want any prepper threads on FR. (Bovine scatology to liberal broken stick).

Did I say he wants me dead and my brains eaten?

Did I forget to tell you he is sure I will be dead and my brains eaten before the first day of collapse is over?

Can I count on you to save my life and brains on the first day?

Nonsense aside, how is the bride because I'm concerned after you posted about her. I did pray out loud for the both of you and God listens to me because he knows I love you and the bride.

Someone posted something about buying extra from Canada. I see if I can find it.

I don’t post much but I read most of your threads and learn from them. I just ignore the background noise.

Thanks and keep them coming.

Marcella, I have to chuckle at how you've studiously concealed the fact that my quip was about zombies "feasting on your brains before sundown", which clearly puts it in the realm of cornpone fantasy. Or do you think zombies are real?

If you're going to play the victim card, at least try to do it honestly.

“I used to order my prescription ahead of time so I'd have one bottle in reserve, but now, the pharmacies won't allow that. What does one do?”

Listen carefully, mlizzy, we can fix this. I assume you have drug insurance. Get your doctor to write a prescription for three months, refillable three times. That is a year's worth.

Take it to WALGREENS (because I know they do that as they do it for me and everyone else). Walgreens will give you three months worth right then. Then, you get a refill when it's time, for three more months. You always get three months at a time.

If you register with Walgreens on line, you can check to have each prescription automatically refilled when it is time and that time is always before the med runs out. That way you don't forget to refill it as soon as possible - they do it automatically.

It may be you can get that service with CVS or other drug stores, but I only know for sure about Walgreens.

Now, here is another way to get more pills at one time. It is your insurance that won't allow for more than three months at a time - it is not the drugstore. If you don't use your insurance, you can buy a whole year's worth if you want but will have to pay the entire cost as you won't be using insurance. If you are blessed with plenty of money, buy a whole year's worth and pay for it yourself.

I hope you get this worked out, Marcella

Interesting. I do not have any prescription coverage, but I can surely ask my doctor next time to write a prescription for three months and pay for that. That didn’t even cross my mind. Thank you!!

Don’t let his toned down talk fool you this guys has something clearly not right about him.

Who's the one posting giant pics of fishtanks full of human heads? Who has pals that post epic length fantasies about how non-prepper "cretins" will die?

Pretty sure that's you, Kartographer.

I think it's more likely than not that we will not go through a nationwide or global SHTF event in the next decade

I think it exceedingly likely that Zero will precipitate SOME kind of catastrophe before the end of his term, which means within four years, so he can declare a national emergency, confiscate guns, and remain in power. Sorry, don't trust that man.

Okay, so let’s look at this for a second. You’re offended by my zombie reference but won’t acknowledge that there might be something offensive to non-preppers in blam’s article. How do you keep both of those in your head at the same time?

Ask the doctor for three months, refillable three times. That is a year’s worth so you don’t have to call the doctor again for a prescription for a whole year. The drug store will give you three months and keep giving you three months for a year. Or, as I said, get a whole year’s worth at one time if you have that much money.

Zero . . . Sorry, don't trust that man.

As a sane person, I don't trust the drug-addled occupant of our White House either. However, I'm hopeful that he is both too lazy and too inept to bring the country down as efficiently as he would like to. I think we are more likely than not to survive these eight terrible years. The challenge will be to repeal all of the Obama legislation, starting with ObamaCare, before those actions complete the intended and irreversible damage.

Liberal Bovine Scatology Broken Stick:

Blam didn't write that article, someone else did, he just posted it. In that article, sorrow is expressed for those who don't prep in case there is a collapse of the country or other extended emergency and preppers are asked to help those who don't prep. as much as they can The article merely lists the problems those who don't prep, would have if such an emergency happened.

If you have a problem with that article, go to the website it came from and speak to the person who wrote it.

Yes, of course blam just posted it. That’s beside the point.

Your reading of the article is completely naive. He starts off mentioning how he’s been ridiculed by non-prepper “cretins”, then spends the rest of the piece fantasizing about how non-preppers will die. It ain’t exactly hard to see what’s on his mind.

And yes, you guys are accountable for what you post on FR. You can’t just pass the buck like that.
