Hello Brothers and Sisters in Christ –
We need to seek Jesus with repentance (Acts 26:20), fasting (Matthew 9:15, Mark 2:20, Luke 5:35), weeping, and round the clock prayer, until God visits as he did in the Welsh Revival, after the Revolutionary War, and just before the Civil War, and throughout the 20th century.
The USA is in serious trouble with the LORD. This should be apparent from …
American Christianity has until the coming revival been in decline and is helpless against porn, divorce, sin, …
Despite the LORD telling us in Matthew 5:13 to be "salt", the Church in the USA is so bland and worldly that Nine states have approved of homosexual marriage, despite homosexuality being called “abomination” by God in Leviticus 18:22 and Jesus describing marriage as between man and woman in Matthew 19:5, and God destroying Sodom & Gomorrah for it. Also our federal government who we have not prayed for to be saved per 2 Timothy 1:2, is pushing for homosexual marriage, despite the obvious harm to the health of homosexual men.
54+ million abortions since 1973. As a nation, do we not serve Moloch?
Our $16 trillion national debt. This reflects on the bankruptcy of our collective consecration to Jesus Christ per Deuteronomy 15:6 and III John 1:2.
China building up it’s military, and has ever increasing nukes pointed at us, and builds civilian fallout shelters to survive a nuclear exchange with us, while Russia is fielding more ICBMs, while internal forces are massing against ours, and our home grown 5th column is alive and well.
Non-religious people catching on to the fact that the USA is being destroyed, right now from the inside, Russia/China/Latin America/Arabs are ganging up on us, to destroy us
Christians are having dreams and visions of coming destruction, including a specific recent dream of our military being targeted.
Some of us Christians were silly enough to think that Mitt Romney, a liberal and a deceived Mormon, would save the USA from the Democrats. Others of us have looked to leadership from famous conservative personalities, and have been disappointed so far.
We need to repent of making idols of, and trusting the following false gods to deliver us:
guns
politics / politicians
debates
going to church once a week
fasting hardly ever, when scripture says we must (Matthew 9:15, Mark 2:20, Luke 5:35)
enjoying hobbies or sports or movies or TV, which are fun, but have crowded out Jesus, to where He is distant, and we don't trust Him like we should
Luke warmness by hearing and not doing what the Bible says
We've tried to heal the nation with politics, whereas God's formula has always been:
2 Chronicles 7:14 - Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, and restore their land.
We humble ourselves, pray, seek God's face, turn from our wickedness
God heals the USA, supernaturally, completely, from the inside out
During such times when the LORD graced his Church with a visitation, evil of all kinds including crime, drinking, swearing, all dropped to practically zero, since God filled everyone with holiness, contentment, and joy.
We must do what they did, so a “holiness restoration” will sweep the USA now, as it did then.
We can absolutely trust God’s word. Therefore, each of us who want to get started on Jesus Christ's felt presence and conviction visiting us, so that God saves us from our enemies internal and external, I beg you to do the following:
Organize nightly prayer meetings anywhere, even if they must meet in different places each night.
Buy tracts for handing out in public.
Re-post and/or forward this call for a holy restoration of the Christian faith.
At the meetings, encourage all to:
seek the LORD Jesus in heartfelt prayer, humble repentance, with open Bibles and hearts, until they have assurance of their salvation
forgive everyone who has wronged them
sincerely apologize to those they have wronged, or cut out, or been bitter against
share with everyone Jesus' loving forgiveness for sinners who want to turn from sin to God
fast secretly periodically, and praise Jesus and pray in Jesus' name throughout their days
anything they suspect they are led to do by the Holy Spirit, that lines up with the Bible
organize nightly meetings of their own
But all of you be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
James 1:22
Let’s get off the sidelines, seek God for a holy restoration of Christians in the USA, by letting loving truthful Jesus flow through us with loving praise, prayer, and thanks all the time.
If you're initially the only one at your nightly prayer meeting, then that's a start. Pray for souls to be convicted or saved into your meeting or anyone else's, and "pray for laborers to be sent into the harvest" per Matthew 9:38 so laborers are sent, and are fruitful.
We could continue to sin in many ways, and further sin by only complaining about, and not praying for the repentance and salvation of:
those who commit vote fraud
low information voters
the Mainstream Media
Communists pretending to be “Liberals” or “Democrats”
abortionists and those who support them
homosexuals
public schools teachers, administrators, and makers of curriculum who deliberately indoctrinate kids into secularism, Islam, etc ...
Let's stop that, and instead love them, forgive them, pray that they repent and turn to the LORD Jesus wholeheartedly, and pray for ourselves to be fully repented and showing good works per Acts 26:20, and striving for perfection per 2 Samuel 22:33, 1 Kings 8:61, Job 1:8, Psalms 101:2, Matthew 5:48, Matthew 19:21, Luke 6:40, John 17:23, and Philippians 3.
Let's pray for them all to come to Jesus and repent, so we won't lose our nation, like we have been in the process of doing.
In previous restorations of holiness, everyone forgot that they were ...
Protestant
Lutheran
Presbyterian
Catholic
Jewish (they “came to Jesus”)
Episcopalian
etc (they also “came to Jesus”)
... and it was all about how wonderful Jesus was, and it was glorious salvation for all involved.
Biblical signs of coming destruction are:
Abominable sins, just like Israel wallowed in before they were destroyed twice.
God raising up enemies to destroy the USA, just as God did with Israel when they broke faith with Him.
Believers having dreams and visions of destruction.
We are 3/3 on the signs of coming destruction. It could not be any clearer.
Do we dare to trust and seek God to rescue us?

**Please** let me know if I can add you to the "Holy Restoration" ping list.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. - James 1:22
There is much irony in your post and choice of username.
“Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.”—Joel 3:10
OK, I'll take your advice and read the Bible:
"...if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one."--Luke 22:36
And the Jews passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, / And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: / And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers money, and overthrew the tables; / And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Fathers house an house of merchandise.
Jesus did not use weapons
Then said he unto them, “But now, he that hath a purse, let him take [it], and likewise [his] scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.” And they said, Lord, behold, here [are] two swords. And he said unto them, “It is enough.”
Luke 22:36-38
Jesus our LORD, said in Luke 22:36 and Luke 22:37 "he that has no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one" because Jesus wanted, "this that is written must yet be accomplished in me” and then Jesus quotes scripture saying, “And he was reckoned among the transgressors".
Breaking down the above verses:
“He that has no sword … let him buy one” |
|
the disciples should acquire swords so |
this that is written |
|
the Scripture I am about to quote |
must yet be accomplished in me |
|
must and will happen right now to me |
And he |
|
Isaiah 53:12 being quoted: he = Jesus |
was reckoned among the transgressors |
|
Isaiah 53:12 being quoted: was counted with sinners |
And they said, “Lord, behold, here [are] two swords” |
|
the disciples tell Jesus they have two swords |
Jesus says, “It is enough” |
|
Jesus confirms the disciples have enough swords to fulfill Isaiah 53:12 |
I have parsed Luke 22:36-38 in a way that is consistent with classic commentaries on Luke 22:36-38 by Matthew Henry and Jamieson Fausset & Brown, and you will find they don’t give any license at all to taking up arms against authorities.
Jesus wanted the disciples to buy swords, so scripture could be fulfilled when Jesus would be "reckoned among the transgressors" when his disciples wielded swords and made themselves "transgressors" for Jesus to be "reckoned among the transgressors."
So, if you also want to be a “transgressor”, despite scripture telling us to be “perfect” in Matthew 5:48, Matthew 19:21, Luke 6:40, John 17:23, 1 Corinthians 2:6, 2 Corinthians 13:11, Philippians 3:15, 1 Thessalonians 3:10, 2 Timothy 3:17, Hebrews 13:21, don’t pray for yourself to grow and for others to be saved, drop your Bible, pick up your gun, and steel yourself to fight the government agents who may come for it.
Jesus said the word never contradicts itself in John 10:35. So when Jesus, who is the Word, and LORD, and the 2nd person of the Godhead, said in Matthew 26:52, “Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword,” it is in perfect harmony with the above interpretation of Luke 22:36-38.
Otherwise, you would have to think that the LORD God, who made every star, world, plant and animal in all their glorious majesty and order in 6 days, and is called Master, and LORD, the Rock, and The Good Shepherd, would so plainly contradict Himself.
So when scripture says very plainly in 1 Peter 2:13 that we should, “Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as to them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well”, no license is given to us to rebel against governing authorities.
The Bible further says in Romans 13:4 that government “bears not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to [execute] wrath upon him that does evil”. If government forces kill you when you rebel with arms, it’s with God’s backing and approval.
If despite all the above scripture, your attitude is still that of “God will forgive me for rebelling and fighting the government when they come for my guns” then ask yourself if God would also forgive witchcraft given 1 Samuel 15:23 says “rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft”. Many a self-professed Christian “patriot” who would think nothing of pointing a gun at a government agent and squeezing the trigger, would quickly and decisively declare they would never partake in witchcraft, since it is so clearly a damnable sin committed by the arch-enemies of Jesus Christ.
Yet, the rebellion you still desire “is as” damnable witchcraft in God’s eyes.
Also, again, when you rebel with arms, you invite invasion from China/Russia/etc. They would be fools not to take advantage of your rebellion.
Furthermore, it is not necessary at all to fight tyrannical government with arms if we:
take up the New Covenant defensive and offensive spiritual weapons of God per Ephesians 6:12 and 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 against evil spirits that stir up our elected and appointed officials to do evil
we pray with faith since God can control and guide the hearts of President Obama, Congress, the Supreme Court, government bureaucrats, governors, mayors, state legislators, city councils, the Police, and our Armed Forces per Proverbs 21:1, and we are commanded to pray for them per 1 Timothy 2:1-3. We pray that many witnesses of the Gospel be sent to them per Matthew 9:37, they be convicted of sin like in Acts 2:37, and that God grants them repentance per 2 Timothy 2:25
Only then will they lead us with ever increasing prudence, and Godly wisdom.
A substantive reply to the aforementioned is not, “I feel in my spirit that it’s my divine right by natural law to fight the government with my guns.”
We're Christians, so if our feelings contradict Scripture, they are error.
After I stood face to face with a Mormon and tore down Joseph Smith and/or the reliability of the Book of Mormon, he put his hands on his chest, looked at me very earnestly, and told me that the Holy Spirit tells him the Book of Mormon is of God.
Therefore, to avoid error we need to give scriptural reasons for why we believe and do.
To give a scriptural reply of substance you might:
Parse Luke 22:36-38 in an intelligible way where the disciples are NOT transgressors
Find a reputable commentary that agrees with your position
Given John 10:35 says scripture has no contradictions, please explain how your interpretation of Luke 22:36-38 does not conflict with:
Matthew 26:52 which says, “Then said Jesus unto him, ‘Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.’ ”
Matthew 5:44 which says, “Love your enemies.”
Titus 3:1-2 which says, “Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, [but] gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.”
1 Peter 2:13-14 which says, “Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.”
Romans 13:1-2 which says, “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resists the power, resists the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.”
>I do not know anyone who worships a gun. They are a tool to
>protect ourselves and our families.
Idolatry is anything that comes between you and God.
If you rely on a gun or money, and not God, they become idols. One does not need to ...
- bow down to it
- offer prayers to it
- burn incense to it
... for something to be an idol.
>A Trojan horse....
No. Only misunderstood.
While I would agree for the need for lukewarm Churchianity to repent and do II Chronicles 7:13-14, I do not think SPAMMING the board with the same vanity thread for two nights in a row under news is demonstrating anything other than attention-seeking.

When I posted it, I did specifically mark this thread as both:
1) Bloggers & Personal
2) VANITY
There could very well be something I don’t understand about how to use FreeRepublic.
When I hit the “Post” button, I am greeted with the following options:
- Bloggers & Personal <—— I SELECTED THIS
- General/Chat
- GOP Club
- News/Activism <—— I DID NOT SELECT THIS
- Religion
- RLC Liberty Caucus
- Smoky Backroom
- VetsCoR
Furthermore:
1) I always update what I post to reflect what I learn from those who respond
2) I post it at different times of the day so different people see it
3) I post under different options each time, again, so that different people see it
4) During the 2004 elections, I had several VANITY posts during the same day where I asked for advice on flyering people’s cars. Nobody minded.
Admin Moderator: Is there an official FAQ or list of guidelines I can read on posting etiquette?
That you have guns at the top of your list demonstrates your lack of moral backbone and strikes me as intellectually shallow.

Please don’t confuse Christianity with American gun culture.
MATTHEW 26:52
52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
MATTHEW 5:39
39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
Luke 6:30
Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them back.

China and Russia havent the capacity to invade and the army that invades Wisconsin each year would be enough men at arms to repel them.
1) Obviously they grow, and arm themselves, and they’re thinking about it as I already posted.
2) Russia is the #1 oil exporting nation in the world, and oil is expensive. They have lots of money for arms.
3) Remember Jeremiah 37:10? If we keep sinning as I’ve already posted, God will make what little they have enough to defeat the USA.
JEREMIAH 37:10
10 For though ye had smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans that fight against you, and there remained [but] wounded men among them, [yet] should they rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire.
> It is a laudable personal choice to forgive someone who
>injured you.
There is a difference between Christianity and American culture.
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
Mark 11:25-26
>However it is your duty to stop that (often insane!)
>person from doing more harm to others.
MATTHEW 5:39
39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
MATTHEW 26:52
52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
>God may want you to be peaceful, but He does not want you
>to be extinct.
God wants us to obey:
LUKE 6:46
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
>God probably would like1 such an instrument, a good
>person, to be at Sandy Hook, armed, and stop the killing
>in its tracks.
More likely, God wants us repenting of our sins, and worshiping and trusting Him, and believing Him in faith for casting away demons from insane people, so such things like Sandy Hook don’t happen.
>A good Christian, if he was wounded by Adam Lanza but
>found himself in position to shoot the killer, would do so;
Please give me Bible verses to make the case for this. Make sure you don’t contradict the ones I already gave.
We do have a nation that is threatened, but as you said the solution is not CW. Anyone advocating that is suspect.
***
Most definitely, I am not advocating CW2. I’m warning anyone who listens that ...
1) continued rebellion against God
2) shooting soldiers or police who come for your guns
3) etc
... will start CW2, which will invite invasion, which will be the end.
Civil War may very well be the ONLY answer. Elections change nothing anymore. How long since spending has been cut, on anything other than the military?
I think were due for a revolt, politicians wont listen to anything else.
***
Like I said, CW2 will invite invasion.
China/Russia are watching like vultures over a dying horse. CW2 is all the distraction they need to invade with their friends.
Don’t do it. It is national suicide.
A holy restoration of Christian living and virtue is the answer when we humble ourselves before the LORD, turn from sin, and pray for ourselves, our friends, our enemies, our loved ones, our leaders, and our nation.
If the poster is, indeed, calling for disarmament, then s/he is grossly misinformed, and totally disconnected from reality. The old example of the person in distress crying out ‘God, why didn’t you help me,’ and God facepalming as he points out all the tools He had provided, would apply.
***
No. I am calling for people to trust the LORD in that we ...
1) humble ourselves before Jesus
2) confess our sins
3) stop sinning
4) pray for others
5) goto 4 until nation healed
2 Chronicles 7:14 says
1) we repent
2) God heals
We’re trying to do #2 with politics, guns, debates, when #2 is God’s job.
#1 is our job.
Had our nation not had a sword, Hitler may have taken over the world. Does ROTB believe it was satan who gave us the wisdom to save ourselves - and the Jewish people? Or were we saved because we were armed, and aided by the hand of God?
***
Regarding serving as a soldier in Luke 3:14 John the Baptist did not tell the soldiers to quit. “What should we do?” asked some soldiers. John replied, “Don’t extort money or make false accusations. And be content with your pay.”
Furthermore, when a government representative bears a weapon, it is sanctioned by God per Romans 13:4 saying, “For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to [execute] wrath upon him that doeth evil.”
Protecting a nation from invasion is “good”.
Had enough missionaries and prayer been sent to Japan and Germany, we never would have needed to fight that war. Jesus called us to pray continuously.
LUKE 18:1
1 ¶ And he spake a parable unto them [to this end], that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
If we do so, we can get this nation back without firing a shot. THAT’s what I’m posting, and praying, and working for.
They’d be easy pickings coming off their vehicles as we flanked and flanked and flanked til they got dizzy and gave up.
==
Not if they nuked and EMPd us first from their offshore submarines.
Chinese sub goes undetected until it surfaces far too close to a US Carrier group in 2006.
United States aircraft carriers are routinely “sunk” in exercises against mere Diesel-Electric subs.
Russian submarines detected in the Gulf of Mexico in 2012, off the east coast in 2009, and off the East Coast in 2012.
They probably have people shilling here FOR CW2, and for rebellion, and for gun worship, and denigrating prayer and promoting guns as a means to save us.
They won't.
ROTB said guns are a false God
sounds like trying to disarm us
***
Actually, with ...
1) humility before Jesus
2) repentance
3) turning from sin
4) praying for ourselves and our country
... we ARM ourselves against our real enemies who are Satan’s legions.
No need to fire a shot to get our country back.
These are the lamentations of a coward and a fool.
Until he decides to take action I will be the safeguard for my own liberties. Jesus gave us freedom from the consequence of sin thats true and I am thankful for it. But the world is not getting better without Christ's divine intervention.
Until then I am keeping my powder dry and my guns clean and well lubricated.
Job of a soldier is dangerous, and many who take the sword will die from the other side's sword. However I wouldn't go so far as to declare all soldiers sinners. Voluntarily dying to save others is not a sin; far from that. I won't offend you by citing a verse to prove that :-)
A good Christian, if he was wounded by Adam Lanza but found himself in position to shoot the killer, would do so;
Please give me Bible verses to make the case for this. Make sure you dont contradict the ones I already gave.
I have done so already, in the link of my earlier comment:
Luke 17:2
It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
This is a pretty violent threat. Note the grammar, it is very consistent across translations. Note the passive voice forms. Someone else "hangs a millstone around his neck" and then "casts him into the sea." Who, in your opinion, is supposed to do that? Is that an empty threat? Was it said for no reason? If it is "better" for the offender, is anyone supposed to do this "better" thing to him? The instructions are quite specific.
Or I can even offer a simpler test. Imagine that a violent killer walks around a playground and kills children one by one. One Christian, with a loaded 1911 in the holster, is present and can act. He orders the criminal to stop. The criminal ignores him. (Why not, the killer is not a Christian just by the nature of his acts.) What would a true Christian, per your definition, do? A child dies every ten seconds; you have no time for prolonged meditation. Your action? Note: by law you are not required to intervene; you only need to do your best to report the crime.
There is one important factor here that you do not make use of. This factor is notably missing from the quotes that you mention - and it is very prominent in my quote. That factor is the person who is wronged. If someone harms you personally, it's your personal affair. You can do whatever you want, and if you are inclined to forgive you are free to do so because it's only your own health, life and property that are at stake. You have authority to deal with these items. You can even allow your throat to be cut, though it borders on suicide.
However in many cases you are proposing to forgive a criminal for harm that he caused to someone else. You do not have authority to do so. Your authority stops at your own body, and at your own chattel. You cannot forgive a killer for killing a stranger. It is simply not your right to do so.
Now that we established that, you are faced with a situation where you can help others (with their life, not with some trifles!) - and you do not. You choose to let them die, even though you can have the march of death stopped at any time. You have pure evil in front of you - and instead of stepping up to the plate and doing your part you ... you ask someone else (God) to do it for you! Is He supposed to descend from Heaven upon your command and smite the killer? Or, perhaps, He has already given us detailed instructions on how to deal with this problem on our own?
