NJ Mother Pressured to Turn Over Her Guns...After Reading the Constitution at Tax Dispute Assembly
The Blaze ^ | 3/12/13 | Erica Ritz

Posted on 03/13/2013 3:02:18 AM PDT by CharlesThe Hammer

A New Jersey mother was arrested and told to turn over her guns after reading the Constitution and peacefully protesting at a tax dispute forum, she says.

Eileen Hart was with her husband Keith and her 7-year-old daughter on Saturday at the Gloucester Community Center to dispute a mandatory home re-evaluation that would roughly double her property value (and therefore dramatically increase her rates), objecting on multiple grounds. As an Orthodox Jew, she refused to have the inspectors in her home when her husband was away at work. As an American citizen, she objected to the seemingly arbitrary reappraisal, noting that she is not planning on selling her home and hasn’t renovated her kitchen in 30 years.

Petty government administrators and their contractor minions bullying American citizens into silence can never be tolerated. If this story bears out as true, Eileen Hart rates serious support from the rest of us. That would mean that these bullies will also need some attention:

Robyn Glocker-Hammond Gloucester County Tax Assessor 856-307-6445 http://db.co.gloucester.nj.us/Government/Departments/Taxation/taxation.cfm

Andrew Colavecchio Appraisal Systems, Inc. 110 S. JEFFERSON ROAD-SUITE 300, WHIPPANY, NJ 07981 Phone: 973-386-1111 ' or 266 HARRISTOWN ROAD, 3RD FLOOR, GLEN ROCK, NJ 07452 Phone: 201-493-8530

Perhaps FREEPERS need to "make it rain.

IF we don’t soon start to publicly call for treason charges against those committing treason, they will call for charges against US!

What did guns have to do with a discussion of her rights at a town meeting, and how did they know she had them? Horrible treatment of this family.

This is par for the course in NJ. This woman still has a little fight left in her, but they will wear her down. Her only hope is to move.

If you believe in the Constitution, the odds go up dramatically that you are going to own a gun.

Guns had nothing to do with it. The politicians sent the police to harass the family at their home. They arrested her for arguing with officials (”terroristic threats” and “contempt”). The police investigated the family and discovered they had a couple registered firearms. They threatened to keep her locked up with a bail so high she couldn’t pay it, unless she surrendered her firearms.

That’s the way they do things in NJ. This family is now fair game for any and all criminals. The police will hold this family responsible for any crimes committed against them. Burglars can rob them blind, and they better not complain too loudly, or they’ll be locked up for it.

All the more reason to NOT have a paper trail leading to your home. Or move to where its not necessary.

I had a local building inspector knock on my door, he said he had to inspect my basement renovation. What renovation I asked? He claimed I finished my basement and it needed to be inspected. I asked if he had a warrant. He said he didn’t need one. I said law enforcement cannot enter my home without permission or a warrant. He said he wasn’t law enforcement, he was a code official. I asked if I was required by law to adhere to the building codes. He said yes, and then I said then you are law enforcement. He never did come back…..

Yet another good reason why to fight registration and never register your stuff no matter what laws are passed.

She shoulda moved to Texas. Down here, once one turns 65 their property taxes are frozen and can’t go up any further, although they can go down if said property should be devalued. God Bless Texas...

Any witnesses?

Impractical if not impossible.

We need to fight back instead of avoiding. We’re losing ground.

South Jersey Times

"County tax assessor Robyn Glocker-Hammond told police that a woman who had been at the meeting was asked to leave the complex for causing a disturbance and making threats about coming back with a gun."

She sounds, perhaps, just a little nuts. Normally, people leave the job of making threats to their lawyers. (And with a reassessment going on in her township her mailbox was probably stuffed with offers from law firms wanting to appeal her assessment.) They gave her a choice of a bazillion dollars bail, or surrender less than $1000 worth of guns. She was released on her OR.

In Alaska for over 20 years my collection was bought literally alongside the road, we had this strip of land outside of town that was like a flea market, you could get anything from tools to a .50 Barret there, and no paperwork.

She made a carelessly though out empty threat while being evicted from the meeting that she’s be back with a gun.

Something tells me this woman may have gotten a bit too verbal. There are times to just STFU about guns and that time is right now. Too many people are looking for guns, looking for people who have guns, looking for people who want you to look for guns and etc.

I read an earlier article where she claims she said nothing of the sort and, no other citizen who attended the meeting could recall anything either. You are too quick to take the word of the media or politician?
