A nice catch by the Examiner’s Charlie Spiering, especially after Rand Paul threatened to block Brennan unless/until he provides a straight answer on whether drones can be used against U.S. citizens here in the United States. This doesn’t quite qualify as a straight answer but it’s the closest we’ve come yet:
“The rules outside of the United States are going to be different than the rules inside the United States,” Obama explained. “In part because our capacity to capture a terrorist inside the United States are very different than in the foothills or mountains of Afghanistan or Pakistan.”
I mentioned that in my post about Paul and Brennan a few days ago. Because infeasibility of capture is one of the three criteria for ordering a drone strike, in theory the DOJ could declare that a terrorist located inside the U.S. is always, by definition, within reach of law enforcement and therefore the infeasibility requirement can never be satisfied here. Obama’s hinting at that point — but he never quite makes it. And in hindsight, it amazes me that the “white paper” on using drones against Americans that leaked to NBC never explicitly states it either...

Considering that there shouldn’t even be the eventuality of a drone strike on US soil there should be no “rules” for such.
And if they aren’t?
What are we gonna do about it?

IOW, heart attack darts are much more cost-effective.
And with the government knowing all our medical information, it would be easier to make it appear to be a natural death. Who needs hellfires here in the US when you’ve got all these other capabilities? All Obama needs is the authority to decide who lives and who dies, and that’s what he’s claiming.
Either that, or law enforcement that will never charge him with murder no matter what he does. And he already has that - and I believe has already in fact, USED that several times on US soil.
The trouble, though, is that Obama’s got more than just bullets and missiles in his arsenal to use against Americans. He’s got Hamas and Hezbollah operatives in every major city by this time, and probably has biological WMD’s in their hands as we speak. That’s the kind of thing you’re able to do when you’re part of an alliance between world communists (like Hugo Chavez in Venezuela) and WMD-bearing world Islamists (like AQ all over, and Ahmadinejad in Iran). Iran flew Hamas and HEzbollah operatives on direct unchecked flights into Venezuela, and probably had at least some of the biological WMD’s from Saddam and Syria at the time, to send along (which is what would cause trouble with checked flights).
Guns are definitely needed, but we also have to be prepared for weapons that aren’t impacted by guns. Drones that can hover close and can deliver a variety of weapons - conventional, biological, chemical, etc - can’t necessarily be countered by guns either. That’s why this stuff is downright freaky, and I think most people sense it in their guts.
I guess the notions of “Due Process”, and “Innocent Until Proven Guilty” are out the window. Given the penchant for kicking down the wrong doors, how long will it be untill someone gets a Hellfire “ by mistake”?
It’s more of a PR thing. Using a Hellfire missile in the U.S. could actually wake up the 0zombies. Silent death squads work better domestically.

The citizens are clearly arming for war. Go to any gun and ammo shop. The stores are mobbed and people are in a very bad mood. What kind of government aggravates the citizens to the point where the people take up record purchases of arms and ammo like this? The president and congress must be blind. They will be swept away.

Drones would’ve done almost no good at all in Vietnam if we’d had them then and won’t do much during the second civil war.
Obama? Rules?
