But I also have no doubt that we have strayed into dangerous territory when a member of our media is aghast that our President needs to back up what he says with proof. Are you freaking kidding me?

This is incredibly spot on. The role of the media as the watchdog of concerned literate citizens has morphed into something unimagined and unimaginable by the Founders. They could understand the profit motive; and they could foresee the danger of voters tapping the public treasury; but they were unable to foresee the mating of media profit with the appeal to, and institutionalization of, demagoguery to the low-information voter.

Is this the same media that have BERATED President Bush with the phrase, “Bush lied, American’s died?”

I mean, in the infamous words of Secretary Clinton, “What difference does it make now?” Whether he lied or he didn’t?

President’s aren’t required to have PROOF of their statements, so never mind!

Liberal Democrat talking points readers never question elected Democrats. They know what they will answer to the questions they ask before they ask them (they get the memos, too.) But all Repubs need to explain what they do/believe, because the “reporters”, being liberal Dems, don’t understand why the Repub thinks the way he does, so it must spelled out for them. Even then, they don’t believe/understand/care. The whole exercise is to make the Repub look bad/stupid.

Well, Duh! Mister Media! Proven liars often have to prove what they say is true, once caught.

I feel much safer now that I have seen President Obama mount his shotgun.

Keep in mind that many of today's same fawning “why does the President have to back up his words?” media—Friedman, Roberts, Cohen et al.—were apoplectic in 1983 when Ronald Reagan rightly called the Soviets an evil empire.

Assuming that photo wasn’t a photoshop, whatever Barry was doing, he wasn’t shooting skeet.
