Since when is ignorance of the law a viable defense when it comes to crimes? Apparently in the United Kingdom it is.
Adil Rashid, an 18-year-old Muslim man, met a thirteen-year-old girl on Facebook last year. After texting her for two months, they met in Nottingham. Rashid proceeded to rape the girl and was subsequently arrested.
In his defense, Rashid claimed that he simply "did not know" it was illegal to rape minors. Rashid stated that "he went to an Islamic faith school where he was taught that women are worthless," and thus consent was not necessary.
He further argued that the thirteen-year-old had "tempted" and "seduced" him in person, leading to his rape of her.
Shockingly, the defense worked. Judge Michael Stokes handed down a suspended sentence on January 25th. Stokes reasoned that "because Rashid was passive and lacking assertiveness,' sending him to jail might cause him more damage than good.'"

Castrate the bugger as a warning to future rapists that this behaviour will not be tolerated in a civilized society
Obviously in Jolly Olde England consent is not necessary if you are a Muslim.
And they're pushing for Sharia law in US communities with growing Muslim populations.
Between the headline and conflicting provisions of the story I can’t tell whether this was a statutory rape or a focible rape. Certain, ignorance of the law isn’t a excuse either way but to try and claim he didn’t know forcible rape was illegal and for the judge to buy it is pretty breathtaking.
If they are worthless, then why expend such effort on them?
If I was the girl’s father, I would look at this as an opportunity. Easier to deal with when the muslim rapist isn’t safely hidden away in a jail cell.
Interesting that he took away from his training that women are worthless, when Islamists keep insisting the reason women are treated they way they are is that women are such treasures and so weak that they must be protected.
Hmmm...I wonder which is the true message being preached? /s
circlecity~:”..ignorance of the law isnt a excuse either way but to try and claim he didnt know forcible rape was illegal and for the judge to buy it is pretty breathtaking.”
Ignorance of the law is no excuse
Lets try to use common sense here
The Islamic youth (18 yrs old)can claim ignorance and cultural background,
but for the judge to accept the excuse ,and suspend sentance
is inexcusable !
therightliveswithus~: (from the article) “ Stokes reasoned that “because Rashid was passive and lacking assertiveness,’ sending him to jail might cause him more damage than good.’”
There is a difference between assertiveness and insertiveness (rape).
This is an example of the ‘perp’ having more rights than the victim !
This is another case of the ‘Law of the Land’ being violated.
This from the country that gave us “Magna Carta”, and common law, ‘Jurus Prudence’.
Is this what we can expect here in this country ?
This Judge should be impeached /recalled / disqualified /dealt with...
... However the UK handles such things....
There remains some cultural soul-searching to be done among our English friends:
"How do you tolerate this level of personal abuse exacerbated by blatant injustice perped by these foreigners with a badly skewed & dissimilar value system?"
***********
"What has happened to our cultural values and the punitive power of the justice system that permits or encourages this lawlessness?"
***********
When the justice system breaks down to this level of failure--
--What to citizens do for self-defense, protection of our loved ones, and deterrence of this kind of criminal behavior against the youth?
***********
If the justice system continually excuses criminal behavior against these children:
How then do we live as a "civilized" society?
**************
How do we respond when the gub'mint vacates its commission and authority to punish criminals...??

Someone (At least one) should wake up singing soprano...
JMO....
Exactly. S-S-S.
I don't even buy this excuse for a second. I've never heard that in Muslim countries any man can grab any child off the street and rape her. Had he been back home and grabbed the local imam's daughter off the street and raped her becuase she's "worthless" he would be hanged within a week. And he knows it.
Britain is lost.
Sure looks like it:

Good catch.
In Saudi Arabia they do this with the non-Saudi women all the time. There they kill some of them to hide their crimes. They get away with it because the women are usually terrified to report them to the authorities.
You are correct that if they grab the wrong woman that they will be punished severly.
