President Obama’s Inaugural Address was his boldest, clearest signal to date that he intends to take on the challenge of fighting climate change as a signature achievement of his presidency....
But what, specifically, can Obama do? For now, it seems highly unlikely that he’ll be able to get a bill through Congress. After taking office in 2009 intent on pushing broad climate legislation through Congress, he hit resistance and the bill died in 2010. .... the president does have in his executive arsenal one powerful--and extremely controversial--.... he could wield without any help from Congress.
Under the terms of a Supreme Court ruling and the nation’s clean-air laws, the Environmental Protection Agency is required to issue a regulation that would force existing industrial polluters, such as coal-fired power plants and oil refineries, to slash their emissions of the greenhouse gases that cause global warming. The rule could have a profound environmental impact by reducing the nation’s global-warming pollutants by up to 20 percent.

The Obama administration has sat on the rule affecting existing polluters for months to avoid issuing a potential job-killer in an election year. That excuse is now gone. ... Earlier this month, in a rare show of unity, 70 environmental organizations sent a letter to the White House, insisting that Obama has “the authority under existing law to achieve urgently needed reductions in the carbon pollution that is disrupting our climate and damaging our health.” ....
Environmental groups hope the State of the Union address will offer a clear signal on what concrete steps Obama intends to take next. “We’re looking for the president to clearly indicate that EPA will put forward something on coal plants as the biggest polluter,” said Dan Lashof, director of the climate and clean-air program for the National Resources Defense Council.

He may well get some more flaunts of the law in on us during the next 4 years. However, if we ever do find a conservative candidate with a real pair of balls that can win, that person can wipe away his 8 years of foolishness with the stroke of a pen...(....law of the land, kinda cool!)

They don't care. Now that Obama's safely in his second term, killing jobs is a-okay now.
Crush 20% or so of this nation's economy and, viola! no need for an executive order. It will happen by itself.
Something has to be done. The percentage of CO2 in the earths atmosphere is already at a dangerous level..0.04% or zero point zero. If we wait any longer it could reach even zero point zero. Then we will be in a world of shiet. Savior of the world Al Gore is only worth $200 million and he has just gone through a divorce which means he lives alone. How can one man live on such an amount? He has done so much for the awareness of the dangerous level of zero point zero, surely he should be given even more opportunities to destroy more lives and economies because of phantom gas. I live in New York. Today it is 9 degrees. I cannot take this warming any more.

By the end of his term America will never recover. The damage he has and will continue to do cannot be removed by the swipe of a pen without causing riots and untold deaths. America is in the hands of hard core communists. Image if the new President cut food stamps, unemployment, and welfare check in one half. 8 millions of welfare people would hit the streets wrecking everything in sight.
The "global-warming pollutants" being referred to here is CO2, which doesn't have a thing to do with global warming. In fact, we here in Indy could use a little bit of that global warming here today.

Court won't hear challenge to Clean Air Act rule

That is exactly how the envionazis are going to attack it. Pressure EPA to issue new limits lower than mandated by law. Congress and people's representations can do circus shows, they are totally irrelevant.
Republican controlled House supposedly can not fund any agency, but that's just a pipe dream.

Between EPA regulations that will systematically shutdown coal fired power plants and new EPA regulations on carbon particulates that will outlaw wood burning stoves and fireplaces we better pray for a lot of global warming or it will be some long cold winters shivering in our darkened homes.

This is the course for Obama, with urging from environazis, to apply the illegal action and bypass Congress to implement (what? I don't have the details).
From the SC refusal to even hear the challenge to Clean Air Act ruling (1/22/2013), we can also leave the 3rd branch of government out as the last resort to safeguard the Constitution (but we already knew that from Justices Robert's single-handed betrayal).
