Its been two and a half years since the last episode of Foxs thriller television series 24, but the show is evidently still fresh on liberal comedienne and former 24″ star Janeane Garofalos mind.
In an appearance on the January 3 episode of the Going Off Track podcast, Garofalo said show creator and executive producer Joel Surnow picked certain cast members to make liberals particularly Hillary Clinton look bad.
That was actually a joke I think Joel Surnow was trying to plant, Garofalo said. He hated my politics and Air America. Hes a real right-winger. He actually worked with the Republican Party producing propaganda campaigns with them.
On 24, Garofalo played FBI agent Janis Gold, a character who would often voice displeasure with the use of torture as an anti-terrorism tactic.
Actually, Rush Limbaugh and Lynne Cheney would visit the set and stuff like that, she continued. But he wanted to make me look like a weak liberal on the show. My character got yelled at a number of times by [series protagonist] Jack [Bauer]. Then it got sidetracked by the writers strike. He didnt get to play out the whole thing he had in mind for my character, because there was a writers strike.

I was impressed with Mark Wahlberg talking about his tattoos and having them removed so his kids wouldn’t think they were cool. In fact he took his kids to the removal sessions to show them how painful it was. They also became an issue as an actor.
A male actor can probably get away with the tats better than a female.
However, the sickle and crescent finger tatoos were easy to see. She was a joke on 24 and IMO, her appearance signaled the beginning of the end. What were they thinking hiring this psychotic paranoid freak?

Good gosh! She looks like a walking venereal disease.
No wait, it gets better.
At Phillip's house you can see the mushroom cloud through the window -- glass intact, btw -- about five miles away. No mention of fallout, no people running around screaming outside, no car tires squealing.
I literally lol'd and changed the channel.
Was she that ugly, greasy broad? Very disagreeable and instinctively unlikeable.

The show was pure camp. I did see this episode (I only saw about three) and all I did was laugh.

Seems like every project she gets involved in fails. The “Forgotten” comes to mind. Not that her presences was the cause of the programs demise, just say’n
I am reminded of time the time Garafalo was taken to task and put in her place by basically a sports guy — Brian Kilmeade on Fox & Friends.
She never returned to Fox & Friends, IIRC.
I thought Garfolio was a plot to make liberals look bad.
What I remember was that EVERYTHING was always 20 minutes away.
That gave just enough clock time for the B-story and still have time for Bauer to arrive for the cliff-hanger.

“Garafalo”
Are there antibiotics for that?
