The democrats are going hell bent for leather to pass a gun control bill in the next three weeks. If you are counting on the republicans to stop it, you are going to be extremely disappointed. The GOP is going to split -- and a larger than expected portion of them WILL support the Assault Weapons Ban pushed by the democrats. It is my sense, at this writing, that THE ASSAULT WEAPON BAN WILL PASS CONGRESS and be signed into law by Obama later this month or early in February.
I can only ask that you forgive my frustration. You see, I am having difficulty grasping the fact that my fellow Americans are going to lie down, whimpering, as the bullies of the political left just run right over them.

>>Where is the NRA? Yes, they had their dog and pony show<<
Let the NRA do what the NRA does. You, begin networking with folks in your area.
It is time to find folks who are willing to aid one another.
Oh for crying out loud, no were not.
It's like a dog that's gotten into the chicken pen and tasted the blood of those birds, you'll never be able to keep’em out of the pen.
This generation of Americans know what freedom is, we will NOT give it up without locking horns.
Doomed? Not by a long shot...pardon the pun.
You’re right. I’m just so aggravated.....
I know, it’s tough to keep thoughts straight when so much is coming at us all at once.
We are all on the same side and we need to figure ways to network, solidify and help one another prepare for any eventualities.
God bless.
Pretty good, actually. The Raich decision by the supreme court illustrates it perfectly: the court claimed that the drug-prohibition laws were legitimate under the commerce-clause -- even in the case of home-grown marijuana, which was not sold inter- or intra-state -- because the lack of a market [the substance being illegal] did impact commerce, because if it did exist then it would.
That is the sort of non-logic the courts [and other government branches] have been shoving at us for years.
The Obamacare decision, contrary to what some believe, did not set any limit on the "commerce clause" but instead opened "taxation" up to be nothing more than extortion, stripping it of the last vestiges of legitimacy that it had:
The obtaining of property from another induced by wrongful use of actual or threatened force, violence, or fear, or under color of official right.
Under the Common Law, extortion is a misdemeanor consisting of an unlawful taking of money by a government officer. It is an oppressive misuse of the power with which the law clothes a public officer.

The prohibition is legally invalid: United States v. Rock Island Armory
Unfortunately this legal precedent is ignored in the legal-world, because to acknowledge it would be to cut off a huge chunk of the power they have over firearms... that, in turn, could also lead to some serious paring down of powers in other arenas the Government has over-reached in.
It’s a cookie jar full of hand grenades.
Alas, the ruling’s nuance was that they can’t prosecute you for not paying a tax if, by law, they can’t accept it. Portions of NFA ‘34 are rendered impotent by the existence of 922(o). The case did not invalidate 922(o), and if 922(o) falls then relevant parts of NFA resume effect.
“Civil war is coming. Please see post number 8. I predict this WILL happen.”
Correction...it is not ‘Civil War’, it is a 2nd American Revolution.
I was an NRA member for a couple years.
Susan G Komen? The Red Cross? Unicef? Salvation Army?
Those guys are pikers compared to the NRA. Couple times a week, I’d have mail or phone calls begging for cash and giving the saddest stories you can imagine.
It was embarrassing to even be associated with them. Truly morose!
These guys have begging down to a fine art.
This is true; however, [forcing] this would put the argument back to Constitutionality, rather than the "willy-nilly"/"might-makes-right" that we have now.
I mean right now we have the worst of both worlds; the enforcers will gladly tell you that it is illegal to even manufacture machine-guns, though that is not the case.
Not here in Texas...
Matter of fact, I am amazed at how often gunshows and other gun retail outlets are advertizing on the radio in Houston...
Granted, there may be some lilly-livered demographics in other places around the country where it is frowned upon, but that is NO concern of mine...
The people will know what is at stake, those that care enough to fully understand the ramifications of ANY covert, or outright action legislatively, or executively on our moral right to keep and bear arms...
They do so at their own risk now...WE are watching very closely what they are doing...The second we lapse enough for them to feel they can get it through, they will...
So...What are some of you prepared to do about this??? And what are you willing to sacrifice for your vigilance???
That is a rhetorical question, and in no need to be answered in a public forum...Remember, this is a monitored website...
