Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) lashed out at the upper chamber today as a symbol of governments runaway power in Americans lives.
Its an alternate universe. No, this this place is a joke. I mean, bottom line, this is an absurd process, Johnson said on CNBC. It certainly proves the genius of our founding fathers that government should be limited. I mean, the fact that we have this place having such an enormous effect on our economy, on peoples livelihood, is wrong. Its simply wrong.
So, Im the manufacturer. Im always looking for the cause of problems. The cause of the problem is that government is far too large. Its far too intrusive into our lives. It exerts way too much control over our economy, but thats where were at. And, you know, I have no I dont know too many people that really think governments effective or efficient. Why would they think the governing body of that government would be particularly effective or efficient as well? he continued. This is a mere symptom of the overall problem in a system of government that has become too large and too intrusive in our lives.
Johnson also slammed the reign of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) as a one-man dictatorship.
And under his leadership, the Senate has been a charade while Ive been here for two years. I serve on the Budget Committee. You know how many times weve voted on a budget in the Budget Committee? Zero. We havent even marked one up, he said.
The senator also decried the shady negotiations. Were here at the end of the year, a couple of elected officials with their unelected staffs, are doing these deals behind closed doors, he said. I dont know whats happening behind there. Am I all of a sudden going to get a product sometime in the middle of the day and say, youve got to vote on it right away? I mean, that is an absurd process.
Weve turned the Senate from a legislating body into a deal-making body, and thats just wrong.
Important story.
It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress. - Pudd'nhead Wilson's New Calendar - Mark Twain
Wisconsin got a true conservative senator because the RINO’s wouldn’t run against McCain pal - Russ Feingold.
Senator Johnson may only be there for a short time as is evidenced by his frustration with the status quo and Washington not willing to solve problems.
We almost had a another one this year until the RINO’s rallied around Tommy Thompson who lost to the ultra liberal gay Tammy.
Please contact Senator Johnson’s office at 202- 224-5323 and encourage him to hang tought and do the right thing no matter what the consequences.
If the senators were appointed by the governor and confirmed by the state legislature we wouldn’t have this problem. Get out of line and the governor recalls you and appoints someone who hasn’t become addicted to power.
I’m a new fan too!

Hey its the Chicago way.
BUMP!
I say we wheel out the guillotines. I’m ready for some right-wing jacobinism.
Good man.
I wish he would take McConnell’s place.
I heard Johnson on CNBC this morning and indeed he was on a 1st rate rant, reeling off numbers and statistics faster than the CNBC newsies could try to shoot them down. Smart guy.
That’s great to hear...It’s good to be outspoken with your beliefs but it’s great to know the facts to back you up.
Hopefully he’ll stick around to promote conservatism.
Amen, Senator, amen! Now if only the MAJORITY of the country felt the same way and cleared out the wicked and useless.
And ensure a Ron Johnson would never be elected to the Senate ? Dumb.
A body full of the same hard-left corrupt rodents and big gubmint RINO establishment flunkies (the TX leg would’ve handily elected Dewhurst over Cruz). It’d be even worse than it is now.
Ted Cruz will be there soon to help him.
I wonder if this was heard anywhere other than CNBC?
Jar-Joe Biden in comic relief?
