In a brilliant act of political satire, someone has created a petition to the white house here to create a gun free zone around the President and Vice President. All guns would be eliminated there, and the Secret Service would not have any.
If it is good enough for our children, It is good enough for the president, the logic goes.
I am constantly amazed that people are perfectly comfortable around someone with a gun, if the person is wearing a uniform. Remove the uniform, and the same people become very uncomfortable.

Over 850 now. At this rate, 1,000 today, 2,000 tomorrow, 4,000 by end of Friday....
If we had someone in our White House worthy of the title “President of the United States”, I would object to this petition. Of course, if we had someone worthy of that title in office, the Constitution would not be in immediate danger.
Sorry, this petition is just stupid.
I’m sure though maybe not that the FBI, NSA, and the Secret Service (SS) will be looking into the people who signed. Then the IRS takes over.
That’s an excellent idea. After all if we can’t trust teachers with CCW we don’t want to take a chance on one of the Secret Service agents flipping out and killing the president.
I understand the point but we are supposed to be the adults in the room...
I would adjust this slightly. I would establish a gun free zone at the White House. If guns are so awful why does the people’s house, the White House, have them?
I’m tired of being the adult in the room. Every time we sit back and stay out of the mud we get or asses handed to us. It’s beyond time to start using the lefts tactics against them.
Can't agree more...
Making ourselves look stupid probably isn't a very good tactic...
The case can be made for putting the concept of "gun free zones" on the ash heap of history by reasonable arguments...except to all the mind numbed obamabots
When laws are applied equally we can do that. Until then, hoistem on their own petard.
It is taking off faster than I though. Over 1,034 already.
I though should be “I thought”.
where in the constitution does it say the president has to have an army of personal security personnel, much less unlimited travel on several dedicated 747 jets decked out to the max in technology?
i don’t care who the president is, it is time to reign in the king back to a government official that is a regular mere mortal.
exactly right. they win by default because they know we won’t. we don’t have to be like’them’and make’stuff up, we can actually point to hypocritical things they do and it gets them even more frustrated because we don’t have to make it up.
Now over 8,220. So close to 1/3 the way there, it hardly matters... in only three days after making the initial 150. This is going over the top.
