Of course we all should have guns in the hands the citizens.

It was really about the types of weapons, but just why are any of them ever banned from purchase?

Thinking about it, things like fighter jets and bombers are owned by private citizens. They are just priced outside the hands of most. Surplus aircraft, tanks, and such are available on the open market with the only restriction being price.
