Some insight into just how warped I was in 8th grade. Must have watched a lot of ST in those days...

Takes me back a year or two. In my youth (1950’s) I drew pictures of soldiers firing on hills filled with caves similar to the conflicts that happened on Iwa Jima and other Islands in the Pacific.
As I look back, I have no Idea were these images came from, we didn’t have a TV or anything like that.
Although my father was in the Army, he served in the European theater.
Perhaps from comic books?

Probably!
I was never a comic book junkie but had some friends who were and I did read the Sunday morning comics in the newspaper.

Somewhere along the line I got smacked into pursuing normal, productive healthy pastimes.
Against which I of course rebelled and only succeeded in keeping a wheel in the ditch for most of my teens and early twenties...

Would that we were all kids again!
Even with Viet Nam, etc., it seemed the world was simpler then and things came at you much more slowly.

That’s amusing, Spock can’t defend the Captain because of the Prime Directive. Heh.
Thanks One Name.

There was a guy in my outfit in the Army who we called “tripod” but for a different reason than your ST creatures.
