However, as I see it, there isn't any meaningful support for secession or revolution.

Give it twenty four more months (if that). The inmates are in charge of the nut house, and they're going to take this country down a path like we've never seen. In short order, too, I might add.

The smart folks are already battening down the hatches and preparing for extremely 'interesting times'.

Anything can happen at this point.

Of course, anything can happen, but not many folks really see these political issues in an existential sort of way. A few people have seen these issues as matters of life and death. Joseph Stack gave his life to protest the IRS, Timothy McVeigh died for his beliefs, and Eric Rudolph gave up his liberty over abortion. Now he hangs out with the Unabomber (another guy who didn't like the direction that this country was taking).

But, these are exceptions. Ninety nine percent of the public loves this country despite all of its faults. And, that's just not going to change. We've been through too much together.
