But, these are exceptions. Ninety nine percent of the public loves this country despite all of its faults. And, that's just not going to change. We've been through too much together.
I agree with you, except that the political left is no longer part of the 'we' that you're talking about. The glue that once held both sides of the political divide together, has now been dissolved. The hard-core left has been working ceaselessly since FDR's time to unbind that glue, and now they've finally succeeded.
The 'we' who still resonate to your passionate words, are all standing on one side of the aisle now, wondering what's to become of our beloved country and its traditions, culture, etc. These are thoughts and concerns which are now disturbing the core of most people who truly love America, and few have any good answers as to how we can restore it.
Frankly, after this election, I'm not so sure it's even possible. The left will now take this opportunity to make their domination over our government permanent. You can bank on it.
And if that is to be the case, then it's time for the red states to pull out of the union. It's either that, or succumb to a darkness we can scarcely imagine.
