…and in addition to all the other blessings

you have conferred on my reflective frame

I wish to thank you, Lord,

for the companionship of steadfast comrades

whose wit and wisdom and strength

help steer me through these tempestuous seas

of flattery and lies churned to fury by the ill will of demagogues. 

Amen.

A special thanks to all who visit here. I wish you all a peaceful, happy Thanksgiving – because there is always, always, always something to be thankful for.

I’m thankful for 38 years of marriage, for a son who turned out well. A happy house with firewood split and stacked for the season. Good health and my own small business. Missouri Ozarks weather, turkeys, deer, fish and low taxes...

...and to you and yours as well. Yes, a LOT to be thankful for. God and Jesus are both alive. Our families are with us. We still have the Bible. We still have a lot of faithful. We still have values. We have food, clothing and shelter. We don't have to try and walk everywhere. We have some semblance of healthcare. The government has NOT taken our guns or our property. Faith - God will prevail.

And, the Bible clearly says, evil may look like it's winning, but in the end God triumphs over evil.
