It only took a couple of days after the rejection of their most recent manufactured candidate for GOP-elites to start wildly groping for their next manufactured candidate to keep the conservative wing of the party at bay. And whose name pops up? Another George Bush. Imagine that.
Not that George P. Bush seems like such a bad guy. I'm sure he's quite nice, really. He's photogenic, well-spoken, and, wouldn't you know it, Hispanic, too. What a great fit for the future of the GOP-elite. When you consider his family's history of using the conservative wing of the GOP like a two-dollar whore to advance themselves, he sounds like exactly the sort of candidate we can expect to get shoved down our throats in the near future.
No one can talk conservative while expanding government as effectively as the Bushes. Bush 41 made sure to sell himself as the continuation of the Reagan Revolution, only to spend the bulk of his four years in office pursuing a globalist agenda, and defenestrating the ideology that made Reagan succeed. On the heels of Ronald Reagan, the GOP could have gotten a chef salad elected president in 1988. One has to wonder how anyone could squander the success of Ronald Reagan any more efficiently than did Bush 41. Hard to imagine topping that act, but his son sure did.
W squeaked into office after winning a contest against Al Gore, who we have come to realize is one of the most unpalatable potential leaders possibly ever to run for the White House. Against the backdrop of Al Gore's unhinged emotional outbursts and childlike sense of entitlement to the office of President, W looked downright Presidential. He looked decisive and cool under fire and, we were assured, was far to the right of his father. We saw how accurate that was when he backed the monstrous government intervention into the free market we know as TARP, and thereby sealed his legacy and, in the bargain labelled the entire GOP as big-government conservatives, whatever the hell that means.
We don't need another Bush. George P. Bush may be a great guy, but I've had about a bellyful of the Bush family wiping their butts with the vision and ideals of the conservative wing of the GOP. No mas, por favor. No mas.
stay out da bushes.
How about , no more GOP?
The remnants of FR are delusional. Those gone are silent without an opus.
There is no GOP any more.
This vote was stolen and it will be worse next time because they refuse to even pretend to fight it
This George P guy should run on his military record. Young guy who came of age right around 9-11. Must surely have some time in Uniform.
I would vote for a RAT before I would ever cast another vote for a Bush. The Bush's were rabid Statists. I absolutely despise Statists.
Too bad he’s a Bush. Definitely looks Hispanic. DEFINITELY good looking—to those that care.
He was in the Navy. They changed his name—even his buddies didn’t know who he was.
U.S.Navy Reserve Intelligence Officer.
Served in Afghanistan under a different name. No one he served with knew who he really was.
Yeah. I mean, I can understand the rationale behind it, but I think I’ve had enough of Presidents with aliases, too. At least for a little while.
Got’cha!
how about no family political dynasties whatsoever
those in these dynasties say they are just very “public service” minded
but my own view is that they don’t see themselves as doing anything better for themselves than what they might do banking on the family name
it is done in businesses and industries as well
I just don’t think its good for good government
I’m with ya, Wuli.
LOL@SatinDoll
Gee I guess we hate Mormons and now we will oppose people based on blood lines. Makes tons of sense.
It won't allow opposition from the Evangelicals, Liberatrians or TeaParty.
It is time to let them win elections without us.
Oh and I left out dashing young military officers. Don’t want any of them, either. Yeah good thinking.
No you mean let Obama win elections without you, and it’s working.
