Fox military analyst Col. David Hunt checked in with us again after the revelation that there were multiple listening posts which heard the cries for help from the US Embassy in Libya, and none of them did anything.
FWIW in the two examples Col. Hunt gives, the Congo and Bosnia, he is not speaking of U.S. inaction in particular. Furthermore those aren't examples of a country failing to lift a finger to help its own representatives. In our case not merely our own citizens traveling abroad but our own envoys purposely placed in an unstable and hostile environment to do work.
As tragic as situations are like those that occurred in Bosnia and the Congo the call for action from our leaders, U.S. leaders, was not 1/1,000 as clear as it was in Benghazi.
Imagine a sheriff's deputy patrolling a very remote corner of his county. He is attacked and pinned down in his squad car by armed thugs and calls in to the station for help. Of course the dispatcher, by procedure and fear for his job, immediately alerts the head sheriff, all deputies, the highway patrol and every emergency response team leader in the county. And they all listen in on the radio transmission as the thugs close in and cut down the deputy. But they're not really sure the thugs got him or he got away before the radio died. No one moves, not one car leaves the station, no one who might be closer is asked to go to the scene and try and lend assistance.
The next day, after having lunch with the town planning commission, the Sheriff tells the press what a tragedy it is, he's going to investigate, too bad we don't have a bigger budget, blah blah blah. In a few days when we're pretty sure the bad guys are gone I'll send in some deputies to gather evidence.
I hope this gets to Romney before Monday.
Seems like FR gets the news before everyone else.
This coverup could be Obama’s Watergate.
This is a sitting President planning and plotting with al Qaeda in a scheme to win an election, the scheme went wrong, and an Ambassador was brutally murdered. The President then lied about it, blamed a film, had the film's maker arrested, apologized for the film on the world stage (the UN), and then lied about the lies.
This is not simply a Watergate. This is felony murder by active participation and planning, committed by a sitting President.
I don't doubt for a minute the general gist of your thinking. I am sure 0bozo immediately ran to his advisers for political counsel and left the generals sitting there unable to respond without an executive command to carry out.
The "video" cover story was already out there though. Hours before the Benghazi attack the embassy in Cairo was tweeting an apology. Hillbilly made the last apology tweet from the Cairo embassy twitter account at approximately the height of the fighting at the "annex." It was deleted shortly afterward.
No one died in Watergate.
Obama got the 3 AM call and couldn't meet his leadership role.
His ineptness caused the murder of our representatives.
By cover his failure up for two weeks he proved to be an even worse leader. He is truly a despicable human being.
Being tortured to death isn't optimal.

IMHO....the only thing capable of explaining this conundrum of the lack of response that would appear appropriate, is that an alternative scenario, in which THE ENTIRE DEMOCRAT LEADERSHIP was invested, blew up beyond their control.
This would truly be a terrible..........and profoundly disruptive of the Federal Government
When you’re in command of something (sheriff’s dept, Marine division, head of your household) and you get a call from one of your own (deputy, squadron leader, daughter) that you are being killed don’t you respond with everything you’ve got even if you know it’s hopeless to get there in time?
“Imagine a sheriff’s deputy patrolling a very remote corner of his county.....”
Brings it home & sums it up....in all its dereliction.
I posted the transcript to draw more attention to the interview & make it easier to quote Hunt, but reading the transcript pales in comparison to listening to Hunt himself. As much as he tries to restrain himself, his emotions are close to the surface-— rage, indignation, disbelief, sorrow, and also shame.
If I counted correctly, 6 out of the 9 times Hunt says “did nothing,” he is saying “WE did nothing.”
Check this out!!!
I’m glad you posted it and thanks for the transcript. I listened to it a week ago when the audio was first posted and I downloaded the mp3 from your link and listened to it again. So, why hasn’t Fox News had Col. Hunt on to talk about this? Cowardice is the only answer I can come up with.
There was a drone with his name on it. Obama et al may have to do a do-over.
BTW: keyword khattala for recent threads
MM: See article link in post 72
Some American newspapers have quoted unnamed Libyan officials as pointing to Ahmed Abu Khattala as the leader of the attacks on Sept. 11. The newspapers also reported that the officials said Abu Khattala's whereabouts were unknown.
In an interview, Abu Khattala told Reuters he had only heard he was a suspect through news media and was surprised that officials had told journalists he was at large.
"These reports say that no one knows where I am and that I am hiding," he said. "But here I am in the open, sitting in a hotel with you. I'm even going to pick up my sister's kids from school soon."
Your so right. It was a dereliction of duty at the highest levels in our government. No way around it.
Yes, of course. As a former military officer perhaps Col. Hunt is more aware than most of the consequent meaning of being a president. The president represents us all. The entire nation. He is the 'head of our household' and when he sits by and lets one of his children be slaughtered by savages while he watches without lifting a finger and then lies about it so lamely that anyone can see it ... it's going to tear you up inside to know that 'we' did this.
And he doesn’t feel a thing. Our ambassador, two former SEALs in our employ and another diplomatic corps employee were slaughtered in front of his eyes and he says “it wasn’t optimal.”
He lost his soul many many years ago. With that I shall bid thee a great upcoming day. Time for me to try to get some sleep.
