....Speaking to a largely black audience, Obama in the video made the case that race relations still had a long way to go in the United States, claiming the divide most severely has an impact on impoverished parts of the country.
....Democratic commentators fired back after portions of the speech aired Tuesday night, saying the remarks were old and blown out of proportion.
"I think that there is no material significance here, but the Republicans are very good at taking nothing and turning it into what appears to be something," Boyce Watkins, founder of yourblackworld.com, said on CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360."
He added: "We have to remember that we live in a country that has for 400 years been poisoned by the psychological disease of racism and it doesn't take much to spark that back up."
Countering, conservative blogger and CNN contributor Erick Erickson said Obama's comments were telling of the president's personal views on race in the United States.
"He's addressing a largely black crowd and making the point that very clearly, that they in New Orleans got treated differently from people in New York and people in Florida because they somehow weren't part of the American community," Erickson said. "That's fanning the flames."
Obama's re-election campaign also weighed in late Tuesday night, calling it an attempt to change the subject from "(Romney's) comments attacking half of the American people," referring to secretly-recorded video of Romney saying 47% of Americans do not pay federal income taxes and are "victims" dependent on the government..........

I don’t believe that Mitt had anything to do with it. Nor should he. Only pointing out that its useful.
In reality I think this started out with Tucker Carlson getting cheesed-off at how he had been played.
What a geat find!!!!!!
The suburbs(white)will pay for the cities(black.) Obama has made this quite clear in the past.
Somebody needed to release it. Like a voter shouldn’t be made aware of blatant racial bias and race baiting? This video is not “old” in fact at the time he was a US Senator, and a likely presidential candidate. He took the Oath of Office less than two years after he made this speech.
“Nothing new for me what was seen in that video.”
But it’s not about YOU. It’s about the vast swath of the electorate who pay little to no attention to the election till very late in the day. Obama peddled himself as post-racial, in ‘08; this shows those who fell for that line what a lying hypocrite he is.
The big story to come out is how the MSM conspired to promote the image of BHO II as a uniter and healer of racial divide...DECEIT WITH MALICE.
What, do you think I'm some sort of insider that saw segments of that speech back in 2007? You think I'm one of the five that saw the whole video?
I'm not the only one who saw that video. It was on national TV.
Its about the vast swath of the electorate who pay little to no attention to the election till very late in the day.
That's one of the times I saw segments of the video "very late in the day of election 2008". He still won.
It's a good video to release but it's no October surpise.
Here's an idea from pburgh01 - let's "talk about us really pursuing our own energy, really doing it, oil exploration, oil shale, natural gas, the millions of jobs and how it can power our economy. Talk about simplifying the tax code so people can run businesses not operate businesses trying to hide from the government. Be Reaganesque, really drive home we want to increase the size of the pie, not divvy up the different pieces to voting blocks. Be positive and enthusiastic about the future, how we need to unleash the private sector, that Partnerships and Investments in the private sector lead to Solyndra.(This would blunt all of Obamas thought speak, about his friendly Fascism, government\private sector partnerships). Drive home we need respect in the world again and to show strength, that appeasing and shaking hands and groveling at with dictators and madmen is very Un-American like.
They'd certainly deny such a label for themselves, of course, despite the fact that CNN has been very obviously carrying every drop of Obama's water. (Except for Anderson Cooper; to his credit he's ruffled a few feathers. Maybe he's just acting as a foil, or maybe he should take steps to ensure he doesn't get 'Breitbarted'. $;-)
Yes, they lie. But it’s the idiots that believe the lies that are disturbing.
Headline Translation: They are doing the job the media is supposed to do but we here at CNNNBCABCCBSMSNBCCNBC are no longer members.
