I just got a call from a pollster trying to push me toward supporting Brad Sherman in the Berman/Sherman Celebrity Death Match. I had to suppress my laughter as Sherman was described as a "fiscal conservative" at one point. Most of the questions were of the form: "Do you like Sherman more now that you know that he interfered in the free market on this issue?"
I really don't think that they wanted my answers.
For those who are not familiar with the names, it seems to be a congressional race between two Dems in southern California.
I was poled once, very painful. ;)
I have been the recipient of many calls recently where the caller is trying to push me toward a democrat, and they asked me what I thought of the democrat candidate. I answered that if the candidaate was running against Elmer Fudd, I would vote for Elmer Fudd. I don’t get many calls anymore.
One of Brad’s representatives came to my house with a ‘survey’... after I was done with her, I kind of felt sorry for her. She could get away from me fast enough :)
“She could get away from me fast enough :)”
During the campaign for Clinton’s second term, we were visiting my elderly parents, both ultra conservative and politically savvy. A pollster had the misfortune of having my dad answer the phone. The call started before dinner, and continued. As we ate, we laughed as we overheard Dad’s side of the conversation, almost pitying the pollster. No more poll calls that year. (Now they have to deal with Mom, who’s 88, and just as outspoken.)
Did you push the Pole back?
after telling one I would rather vote for a can of frozen OJ then bambi and his minions, pointing out the absurdity of their record and going over economic history, (45 min at least) they will never all me again, and the co-ed lackey got a graduate level course on macro/micro/international/eonomic and seemed to get it. The look on my SO’s face as I was talking to the pollster was priceless.
Told her “ I am not a fan of Obama at all”
She said ‘OK I’ll put you down as undecided”
“I sure as hell am not undecided, I can not believe you have the Chutzpa too go door to door fr that pathetic moron, You ought to be ashamed of yourself. Get the Hell off my porch and off my property! As a matter of fact take it on the heal and toe and get the Hell out of my entire Neighborhood!”
That is how you handle an ObamaBot!
Yes, it’s the CA 30th district. In a lovely example of how democracy works in this State, we have two Democrats to choose from this November.
