A conversation between my husband and a FReeper who wants to sit out the election because he doesn't like Romney:
"See, I believe that we are already past the tipping point.
You really are naive. Nothing worse can happen, huh?
How about those hefty taxes that are planned for the rich (really small businesses) in January? Think that might possibly cause our economy to get even worse by increasing the jobless?
How about the $1 trillion dollar debt (conservatively estimated) for the next fiscal years budget and every years budget thereafter?
How about the disregard and attacking of the rights of all religious institutions, who will be forced to pay for something they believe is morally wrong? Do you think quite possibly Catholic hospitals and facilities might possibly go out of business?
How about the actual implementation of Obama Care, which will devalue our way of life, drive doctors out of the business, bankrupt insurance companies, and cause skyrocketing premiums?
How about the complete collapse of our economy, which will likely result in unprecented skyrocketing inflation rates and quite possibly a depression that we have never ever seen the likes of?
What about the complete disregard of any and all pro-life protections - babies, the elderly (euthanasia - they wont be needed anymore?
How about the removal of any moral values for our country at all?
How about World War III in the Middle East, the annihiliation of Israel, and a nuclear holocaust there as well, with the fear of dirty bombs in this country?
How about the removal of all our rights - free speech, freedom of religion, right to bear arms through Obama executive order fiats?
How about the replacement of our conservative judges with ultra liberal anti-Constitutionalists?
How about a Communistic-style of government that will lead us to the point of no return?
Your no vote is a vote for Communism. Congratulations on your principled approach. And youre doing that to teach the party a lesson? There wont be a 2016 election to turn to, after Obama gets done.
You and others like you have no genuine concern or accountability for our country at all.
Just make sure you separate the truth tellers from the demonizers, that’s all.
But you are still going to play your game knowing you are going to lose. However, your game affects me. That's the point you miss.
This is our wake up call, and you are going to take a snooze.
You pretend like you didn't, and then you repeat it, with no proof, just innuendo.
So, go ahead show us how Romney is just like Buffet, Soros, and Hammer....
Go ahead. You implied it, now prove it.
It’s amazing. That guy’s M.O. is to jump on those not voting for Romney and insist you prove any point you make, and then belittle your points or proofs as non-proofs while he continues to insult, condescend and ridicule.
Acts more like an Obama drone or unhinged Ron Paul Mob Zombie than any Conservative I’ve ever seen.
You’re wasting your time having a discussion with a forum bully.
heheheh...smack him in the mouth and he avoids ya in the next thread...
You know that these silly vanities are designed to stir up fights here, which can be entertaining . Speaking of which, imagine how much fun, err I mean trouble LOL, rabs would be getting into now if he was here? He would be a blast.
ole rabs always gave me a chuckle, mcquuuuuuuuueeeeeeeg drove him nuts...too much evidently...
He was a good FRiend and a fun poster, but not enough self control.
“You did say that, pretty clearly.”
No, I absolutely did not. I didn’t even mention Romney’s name. If I did say it so clearly, then quote where I said it.
“Go ahead. You implied it, now prove it.”
What I was implying was that socialists could be successful businessmen too, contrary to your inane assertion otherwise. If that’s not true, then what do you call the politics of Soros, Hammer, and Buffett? Capitalism? I’m asking again, since you never answered the question, but just tried to deflect attention from it with your straw man games.
The question is actually pretty easy to answer, like a previous poster said it's such a ridiculous thing to compare Soros and Romney, it seems silly to address it, so I didn't, but here goes: Some business people lean left, although not in the way they run their business. Most business people are not true socialists, actually very few (Buffet because he's a senile, sentimental fool outside of business, and far worse Soros who hates free enterprise). Romney is clearly not like them, in his business practice, nor even his RINO squish governance of Mass, nor in his stated beliefs. He clearly thinks free enterprise is the best model. Soros on the other hand does not, is an outlier and the poster (or you, if you believe that) bringing him up as an example of some one just like Romney is just plain stupid.
So, yeah, if you believe that, please prove it. If you don't, why are you bringing it up?
Just wondering, it would help me understand why you came into the discussion.
I brought them up because they are examples of socialists who are also successful businessmen. So, they disprove your assertion that someone simply being a successful businessman is proof they are not a socialist.
Now, whether or not Romney is a socialist is open to debate, but you can’t shut the debate down by appealing to his status as a businessman. It’s a bad argument, since the two are not mutually exclusive. That’s all.
If enough folks who think this way would vote, perhaps it would make a difference.
I despise Romney and Ryan.
I consider myself a conservative/libertarian.
I can't wait to vote for Romney and Ryan.
Someone on Free Republic recently said they would crawl through broken glass to vote.
Ditto.
“I’ll ask you if you actually believe the crap he and his petulant, posse of 2 post?”
I don’t know, you’d have to be a bit more specific about which “crap” exactly; I’m not going to blanketly endorse another poster because I just don’t have time to read everything they have posted to see if I agree with them.
I'd say those are the specifics.
1. No
2. Socialist, yes, just like Obama, no. They are two different kinds of socialists.
3. No.
4. No.
Soros, now that's a committed socialist.
I'm a reluctant, hold my nose vote for Romney, only because Bambi is the worst, most far left, most destructive, most pro-marx, pro-muzzie, pro-death, anti-free enterprise, anti-Christian, anti-American, anti-everything we say we love and care for president ever and a record to back that up. I think he'll go full blown Chavez on us if he gets four more years and I'm not sure we can withstand that as a country.
Half of me will need a lot of whiskey to vote for Romney, the other half will crawl over broken glass to vote against Bambi. Unfortunately to get rid of him you have to do both.
