“Hobbes and Bacon” is a “Calvin and Hobbes” tribute that takes place 26 years later. I had nothing to with creating these cartoons – I am merely posting them here so that you can see them. There are four – and only four – but that’s enough to get the message across. You can see larger versions of the images by clicking twice on each image:

Calvin was named after John Calvin, Hobbes after Thomas Hobbes, so I am guessing Bacon is Francis Bacon.

Nice, I like the ending reference to “Calvinball”, the greatest game ever invented.

We came this close || to naming our second born Calvin. Went with Elliot (had a family antecedent). 18 years later I’m still second guessing myself.

Sweet, and kind of sad.
I’m actually Calvin’s mother. He’s 18 now. Not much has changed since he was six, except that he’s now huge and has all these muscles everywhere, and his wild blond hair has been shaved high and tight. He still has a fabulous talent for getting in trouble and a crazy attitude. He just joined the US Marines so he can break things and blow stuff up without having me get mad at him.

Susie Derkins gets married to Calvin and they have a little girl?
Now that's a comic strip that has potential........

“I miss Calvin and Hobbes.”
Yeah, me, too. I always laughed at that strip. One of my favorites is the frame where Calvin is running with a fire extinguisher saying, “Dad says there’s nothing like a roaring fire, but I don’t know!” or somesuch.
And the snowmen were inspirational.

My favorite comic strip. I gave up the comic page when he stopped. I've got all three hardbound books.
