>> You posited that 25% of students dropped out of high school, but I gave you a recent statistic that it is only 7.4%. <<

We have competing statistics. They both are true, but they both mean different things. Mine said that 25% drop out. Yours said that only 7.4% lack a diploma OR AN EQUIVALENCE. I’m trying to explain to you that “or an equivalence” is where the discrepancy comes from. Your statistic is not counting those who have taken a GED as not having dropped out.

Your notion that the overall student body has a low IQ is completely unfounded. The average IQ of an American teenager has not declined as the population has gotten more diverse.

On the other hand, Marilyn Savant has an IQ of 190, and is nothing more than a columnist for the Sunday inserts.

Top row, third from the right is Heisenberg.

I'm not so sure about that.

But isn’t the new GRE just being phased in?

Hey! I resemble that!

I don’t think I would qualify as ‘bookish’.

More like John Madden, with a healthy respect for literature.

I find I have to be more like O’Connell in “The Mummy”.

Specially in “Mummy II” when he is hanging on the edge of Hell and the lost souls are clawing at him trying to drag him down. That’s my job.

Since your list made no sense I referred to the article’s list of subjects.

Who the hell knows what you were talking about since the post made no sense on its own.

average US IQ testing is around 100...and now that almost everyone goes to college...it looks fair enough though i would have expected certain fields to be higher as well

IQs are all over the board:

Non Israeli Jews are 110-115...Israeli Jews are 15 points on average less...European culture has it's fine points...or had

East Asians..those we used to call Mongoliod race are 100-106

Caucasians as a rule....100-105 average...though Austrians and Swedes are on average 10-15 points higher than Croat mean...and so forth

Hispanics vary from 100 in Argentina and Chile to 87 in Mexico which indicates to me a racial component

Black Americans average 85...quite above their motherland kin

Tropical Africans span from 60 to 80

Northern Africans...mostly Arabs and hybrids thereof average low 80s

Below 70 is considered retardation with degrees that once used archaic yet arguably definitive terms such as moron, imbecile and idiot in that order to describe that sad bottom depth

We today discount all this...and that bears consequence.

It bears consequence in the aggregate. Individuals given the chance can be the exception but that is NEVER EVER the outcome in general..a fact we ignore and have ignored for decades now.

And the proof is in the pudding...just look around you (metaphorically)

Aye.

According to the book 'Bell Curve', the Ashkenazi Jews have a higher IQ than any other people.

I’ll ask the psychometrics guy maybe they will allow it, but it will probably take some time to be normalized.

“On the other hand, Marilyn Savant has an IQ of 190, and is nothing more than a columnist for the Sunday inserts.”

Approximately 6,000,000 Americans would qualify to join Mensa, should they apply.

Over 100,000 of them would further qualify to be an ‘MM’, one who is to Mensans in the aggregate as Mensans are to the general population.

More than 2,000 of these folks are smarter than Marilyn; there are a lot of smart people in this world, but that hasn’t solved our problems.

That top 2% is what Mensa is aiming for. Because they take anyone who has ever scored in the top 2% of a qualifying test, their net is actually quite a bit broader than that, considering outlier scores from the much larger population.

GRE was dropped because computer version could be gamed due to small pool of questions.

I didn't either, but that what the psychometrics guy says. It's his job to keep the Mensans out.
