IQ estimates by intended college major via SAT scores
Assuming the mean IQ of SAT test-takers included in a report by the College Board to be 103*, the estimated average IQ of students by intended college major follow. The estimates exclude writing results, which were added in 2005 and constitute what is generally considered the least objectively reliable part of the test**. While watching a program about the development of the atom and hydrogen bombs, I noticed something interesting.
Among the most brilliant physicists on earth, a bunch were Hungarian Jews from Budapest. I would bet anything that it was the gene pool there.
The big secret at culinary school? Besides most of them?
The polenta lesson. Chef started off with "I'll bet you are wondering what the difference is between polenta and grits.... $3.25 on the menu....". The light dawned for some students. ;)

Communist! You intend to offshore my fargin sammich and cost an American Sammichmaker a job!

I think what they can’t accept is that even though there are differences in height, weight, hair color and configuration, strength, presence or lack of extra layers of skin near eyes, and of course skin tone, that there could possibly be any difference whatsoever in cognitive ability. Although I wonder if any of them ever stopped to consider why most professional basketball players, or runners, are black. Gee, if athletic ability varies across ethnicities, might it also be possible that other aptitudes also have a genetic component?
Bill O'Reilly constantly brags that he's "a Harvard Guy". Rarely does he mention his Harvard degree is an MPA.
When I was a student at Troy, they used to have Dr. Edward Teller come by once a year.
He would give a short talk and take questions. He was a genial person and I enjoyed hearing him. I do remember one student asked him who he thought was the best physicist ever.
Teller replied that it was a fellow Hungarian tho I can’t recall the name.
Bunch of grim faces. The guy in the middle looks like he thinks he’s Einstein or something. BTT.
The guy on the top row, fourth from the right, looking sideways. That’s Wolfgang Pauli, his presence at a demonstration virtually guaranteed the equipment would fail. His friends began to call it the Pauli effect. :-)

Tesla?
Tesla was a strange combination of crackpot and genius.
No, Tesla was Serbian. His Father and his Mother’s Father were both Orthodox Christian priests.
“No, Tesla was Serbian.”

Oops!

I would guess 140-150 for the average. Of course the presence of women in the picture ... probably raises it a bit.
But then, I recalled that all students are now encouraged to take SAT and continue on to college, with grants, subsidies and loans. That skews it lower than it once was, I'd think.
I also recalled that there is an entire country with an average IQ below 60, upon learning of which I was amazed that the populace could collectively remember to breathe.
So, no, the scores actually aren't too low. By way of disclosure, I tested out at 142 back in the day and score higher than that now, if those online things are any sort of reliable guide.
I thought he did, but now I'm not certain...
So this info comes from a blog. A blog is graffiti with punctuation. I’m a chalkfarmer with an IQ of 117...nothing to write home about. These numbers seem wrong.
