I suppose this is a 'what do you think' type of question. But to hear from a moderator would be the best. The blog in question is at the link.

Then why not ping a moderator or send a Freep Mail?

Before you post, check for spelling and grammatical errors. The spelling/grammar police will flame you for it and your content will be lost in that fog.

I’d think so. However, some bloggers just post a one-line teaser to force anyone who sees the headline to make the click-through jump to even begin to gather what the post is about.
It’s nice to get a better feel for the thread before being required to boost “click through” counts.

Yes, but unless you post the whole article, minus any videos you may have because FR does not allow for videos.
Fail top post the entire article and, I would suggest that you should get ready to be excoriated for daring to expect anyone to visit your blog.
Otherwise post away and share what you have.

I don't think anyone minds if you post your whole article. What gets people upset is when you post an excerpt of it and then tell people to go to your site. Excerpting is a necessity for some sites because they have sued Free Republic and Jim Robinson over violating their copyrights. If you wrote it, you don't need to excerpt it.
If what you wrote is good enough that people want to see more, that is great. But don't just use FR as advertising for your site to boost your advertising hits.

Also, blog entries that are just a YouTube video where your sole addition is a line like "Watch this cool video" are bad. Just post a direct link to the video rather than filtering it through your blog.
If you have something to say about the video say it here. And also tell what the video is so people know whether it is worth their time to click on it.

Blog pimping is continual spamming of your own blog as a form of advertisement. Usually what people don’t like is when your own content is excerpted because sometimes blogs are untrustworthy in regards to malware and because it is your own content, by default you can give permission for full posting, there is no ambiguity on that end.
Just posting an article here and there from your blog with no excerpt never has been considered pimping.
For example, one guy a while back was posting dozens upon dozens of links to his ‘pay-per-click’ blog with excerpts only. Never responding except the occasional griping if someone criticized him. That is pimping.
We do however, encourage people to create and share their own content. If your intention is to be part of the community and not just use it for hits, welcome aboard.

One other thing we consider pimping or spam is posting some other source’s content as your own on your blog then posting it here.
For example, if you take a Fox News article and post it on your own blog with no unique commentary then post that here, that is pimping at best and plagiarism at worst.

Absolutely not!
Despite the fact that Free Republic has a Blogger/Personal section, under no circumstances are you to actually USE it, unless you intend to post the full and complete blog article, thereby giving free content to FR.
