The fear and terror those four went through up to their death just haunts me.

Exactly. Trying to blame his possible gayness for his death is as foolish as blaming a film for the violence. He was serving his Country, he died serving his Country. He is an American Hero.

“From what I understand Chris Stevens loved Libya and her people. He was a tremendously courageous man and the fact that he happened to be gay is just a footnote.”

What a load of gibbering, gushing, PC crap.

Stevens’ record speaks for itself:

http://www.debbieschlussel.com/54308/chris-stevens-friend-of-hamas-us-amb-to-libya-was-islamopanderer-to-extremism-nbc-video-the-male-lara-logan/

“Stevens wasn’t just an Islamo-pandering cheerleader, he dedicated his career to romanticizing, whitewashing, aiding, abetting, and enabling Islamic extremism.”

This is the reason he should have never been an ambassador in an Islamic country, not because he was homosexual.

Sending a Sodomite to represent us to Muslims or even Christians is as tone deaf as sending a female Secretary of State to North Korea, China, Saudi Arabia, and Etc. I can assure you that our hippie notion that equality means interchangeability doesn’t always play well with others who don’t share our fascination with affirming the ones they don’t respect by forcing them to genuflect at their feet in order to negotiate peacefully with our nation. There are ways to push for the inalienable rights of all mankind without going around and intentionally stepping on everybody’s toes all the time. And it is not an inalienable right for a woman to be treated identically as a man or vice versa or for a sexual deviant to have his particular deviance approved of by those who don’t care to. I, for one, don’t care to be represented by sexual deviants or have our government be full of token people to make it “look like America”. Just because our nation has many crooks and ignorant people doesn’t mean that we need to elect stupid crooks to rule over us.

No. The mideast is on fire because Obama is a Muslim sympathizer and doesnt have the brains to know that they would just as soon see him dead as any other infidel. (Maybe more so.)

Im saying that Muslims will use any reason that presents itself to distort their reality into a murderous rage.

Wasn’t “the film” released in early July” Why wait until 9/11 to go ballistic?

....logistics, pre-planning, organization, symboligy....it doesnt have to be a very big mole hill for them to go crazy over.

Stevens was killed by "Let's show the Muslim world we're so wondderful that we'll send a Gay man to them to represent us.

We should have sent some of our newly minted "openly" gay soldiers over there to protect him.

Watching Rice today was an exercise in anger management. One of the SEALS who were killed was a big gamer. Hours before he posted that we should not be surprised if he were to be killed that night. He reported seeing local "protective" forces taking pictures of the compound.

Rice lied and lied and lied.

He was serving his Country, he died serving his Country.
He is an American Hero.

He is an American Martyr.
There fixed it for you.

Although he served his country, no doubt he is getting paid a lot more than I have ever been paid, and I don't recall being told that my job is heroic or that I'm "serving". And while dying a violent and torturous death is the ultimate price to pay, just being lynched is not heroic by itself. Did he voluntarily die to save others? Did he die while fighting and killing untold savage murderers? I'm just saying not everybody who dies is a hero. The knee jerk reaction to canonize this American as a hero does a disservice to those who do truly heroic deeds or live lives of heroic struggle. Now I'm not saying that he hasn't done those things, just that nobody has informed me what those things are. And while I'm sure there will be a full tribute given at this time of eulogy, we all will get that with very few exceptions and we're not all heroes.

You may be right but serving in foreign Embassy, especially in the Middle East is dangerous, and those serving there are aware of that. I don’t think his salary has anything to do with the subject. I might use the term hero too liberally but I feel the first responders at 911 that died were heroes not just the ones running into the building. Even though they were doing what they get paid for. I consider my relatives serving in the military heroes, as well as policeman and fireman. You did not state your job but I may even consider you a hero. Your criticism does give me pause for thought about overusing the term.

There is a video of the Libyans carrying the ambassador. The don’t look so friendly to me. The idea that attackers looted the embassy then atacked the safe house and then just walked away leaving the ambassador behind is of believable. The usual MO of rape and torture is more likely.

I think he was killed because he was an American ambassador. If he was gay or not I doubt that entered into the Jihadists equation.

The whole prying into a dead mans life to see if he was gay or not is ...pretty gay.
