I feel like I ought to start out each of my articles anymore with a disclaimer, or caveat saying something along the lines of WARNING: The contents of this article are to be considered null and void in the event of a Reichstag Fire, false flag event, and/or an invasion by Russian Spetsnaz in collusion with Northcom,or words to that effect.
My intent is not to make light of such concerns, as God knows we have reason enough to be more than a bit edgy these dayswhat with the Patriot Act, NDAA, the torrent of Obama EOs (Executive Orders), various government agencies stockpiling millions of rounds of ammo, and other such things.
Personally, I am what you might call a cynical optimistI hope for the best, but plan for the worst. I keep myself open to the idea that the US can peacefully pull itself out of the colossal mess that it is currently mired inbut I have enough guns, ammo, freeze dried food and whatnot to open a small survivalist store.
Be that as it maythe main topic that I wish to address in this article is my decision to back the Romney/Ryan ticket, and the fallout from that. Contrary to what some of you may think, I have not rushed off and enlisted in the Dark Side. I am as opposed to the Big Bank/ Big Corporation/Big Government/Big War cabal as ever...

because there'd be no opponents. Every four years scores of Democrats posing as Republicans and complaining the GOP frontrunners and eventual nominee aren't conservative enough come piling out of the woodwork. You're either a full-scale ignoramus or one of them. Next.

Didnt expect an answer. You should always expect an answer about employment and marriage history from a guy running for President. If you don't get one, the guy's provably dishonest and has something to hide.

“Have you not observed the discussions on this site pointing out the vast difference between a second Obama term and a Romney first?”
Sure. They sounded exactly like the siren song of hope and change. Same song, different verse. Neither singer meant the song. They were performers trying to get votes and become the next American (Idol) POTUS.

Actually, as it turns out, in our country, America, we use the Electoral College to choose a POTUS.
You should check it out as you get acclimated and learn our system. Welcome to America immigrant. We were all once like you - or at least our ancestors.

Depends entirely on which state you vote in... RINOmney can’t win my state. My vote for Potus for RINOmney would mean nothing. Nor would it have an affect if I actually voted for Zero. In fact, in almost all the states (except 8), your vote will decide nothing.

Yes. This is akin to death struggles between Crips and Bloods, Bolsheviks and Mensheviks, Assyria and Babylon, Brownshirts and Spartacists. I do not have a dog in this fight.
I wish the bled out ‘victor’ would collapse dead on top of the loser’s corpse. Alas, I know better, as there is no real fight between the two racketeering organizations known as the Democrats and Republicans. They are rivals, but they are also accomplices and partners. This contest is as real as a professional wrestling match. One brazenly postures as a belligerent, the other feigns being the good guy. They take turns at the roleplaying as their traveling circus tours the country periodically.
The dirty little secret hidden in the open is this: The real war is not left versus right or right versus left. It is not a horizontal battle. It is a vertical battle, with an oppressive government waging top down war against the people. The rivals take turns pretending to offer different agendas, to keep one half of the population always afraid of and hostile towards the other half. Thus the people keep themselves in check. The ‘ruling class’ could not hold them down otherwise.
I am off the plantation. May each of these parties be rewarded with what they deserve, and may I live long enough to see it.

Thanks, now work on your own comprehension as I have been aware of how the Electoral College works since I was a kid in school learning political science, back in the day when it was taught based on our Constitution.
By the way, don't bother trying out for 'open microphone night' at your local comedy club, as your attempt at humor definitely bombed. That tends to happen when you're this late to the party. :)

Romney and the Mittbots Fur Shur.
BTW, you can look up how long someone has been at FR and how many posts they've made. So far I've created 53 threads and 103,281 responses + another 9,000 before they made us re-apply ~ and then I've provided thousands of cressreferences internal to an existing thread. That's since, roughly, March 1998.
Odds are good I didn't just show up!
I see you are rather new though ~ 2002? Bwahahahahahahahahaaaa ! Jus' more red meat!

In your lofty words of praise for our esteemed Founder in your post #658, you have failed to understand and fully comprehend the message that he conveyed in his post of 22 August, which is:
The only chance that we have to defeat 0bama is to pull the lever for Romney & Ryan. No conservative likes that prospect. In fact it wasn't too long ago that I was firmly in the camp of the Mitt bashers and I took a back seat to NObody when it came to generating sneers, jeers and smears to the laughter of the crowds who applauded my home brewed graphics mocking Romney, and my choice was literally ANYBODY but Romney so far as the GOP nomination was concerned. My moment of truth was when I had to consider that if I continued to pursue my opposition to Romney, that I would by default, be assisting the re-election of the most wicked and despicable sonuvab*tch in all of American history, even over and above the Buffoon from Georgia, Jimmy Carter.
To utilize an analogy that I have applied in the past, in World War II, we didn't like or approve of how Joe Stalin ran the Soviet Union, we didn't particularly like the way he oppressed and mistreated the Russian people. But Joe Stalin had the only substantial military force in Europe and Asia with the capability, albeit somewhat impaired, to take on Hitler's forces and that is why we were allied in a common cause with Uncle Joe, because the GREATER enemy was in Berlin, and we backed it up with all the lend lease we could send to Moscow, regardless of our views about the true nature of Communism and how it was the antithesis of everything we hold dear under our Constitution. The question today, with over 70 years to reflect is, 'what other decision could we have made?' What other choice could have been considered when the risk of being wrong would mean the victory of Nazism over all of Europe and Asia, and possibly the Western world as well?
Now you seem to have the idea that someone has personally 'threatened' you in this thread, so I challenge you now to go back and find ANY post of mine which made such personal threats, and you can take your time, because you're not going to find any. Likewise, you are not going to find ANY posts of mine that 'ridicule your faith and Christianity' because those posts too, do not exist except in your obviously confused mind. Will you find blunt talking, no niceties, smack-you-upside-the-head responses to your holier-than-thou proclamations?
You better believe you will, because as the late Johnny Cash said, "lies have to be covered up, truth can run around naked" and the truth IS that you and your 'Principled Conservatives' who decide to sit this one out, or decide to throw your votes away on some third party Quixote-like candidate that WILL NOT WIN WILL be assisting in the re-election of 0bama by denying your votes to the only possible ticket with a shot at winning. THAT is the truth, and if that is your decision you better be prepared to live with it.
Now as to your displeasure regarding responses to your posts, do you really expect that THINKING conservatives who understand the threat that will be manifested to what's left of our Nation should 0bama be re-elected, when faced and confronted with your obstinate, fingers-in-your-ears-going-nyah-nyah-nyah approach to the most urgent election we have ever faced, do you really expect or think that you should be responded to with nothing but polite Robert's Rules of Order-style exchanges? This ain't Penelope Petunia's Parlor for Proper People, this is FREE REPUBLIC, whose Founder Jim Robinson has never hesitated to use more than colorful and graphic language in his commentary, or perhaps you missed it when he posted that famous thread in which he properly called out John McCain as a "treasonous bastard" and other straight talking epithets that REAL men use in REAL life?
As my good FRiend StephenJohnBanker has said "we're not electing a pope, we're electing a political leader" and make no mistake here 'Lord Invar' (that IS still the moniker you go by on your outside email isn't it? Got that from your FR page, fyi), I do not believe in the Mormon Church, and I do not subscribe to their teachings, nor will I. But since you like to cast this election in terms of how scared you are of what God might think of you if you pull the lever for Romney & Ryan, perhaps the following Scripture will help illuminate your thoughts, and maybe even clear out all the clouds of confusion that have allowed you to become so terrified of our Creator:
And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. But Jesus said, "Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in My Name, that can lightly speak evil of Me".
~Mark 9:38-39, KJV
Now pay close attention here: do you believe that the removal of this wicked 0bamunist regime from power, is something that Almighty God would approve of? Or do you think that He would prefer that Kenyan SOB be allowed another 4 year term to continue his evil and depraved ways?
Think about that a moment while you re-read the above mentioned words of Jesus. Mitt Romney may be a Mormon, he may be an adherent of a religion which is not totally based upon God's Word. He may be a liberal. He may be MANY things, but if you believe that God's Will always prevails, then you must also accept that it is God's Will that we will be staring at a ballot with two choices on November 6th, one is the wicked and satanically inspired 0bama, the other is Mitt Romney who is a flawed sinner like the rest of us, but he is a far different potential leader than what we've got stinking up the White House right now. Now if Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are able to put America back on a sound moral and fiscal path, would that not qualify as a miracle? You think Jesus would speak ill of such events?
The Jesus *I* know would applaud the actions of such men, just as He applauded the Roman Centurion who sought Him out to heal his servant, saying "I am not worthy for You to enter my home, but if You will but give the word, I know my servant shall be healed" (paraphrased) and quote "Jesus marveled at that man's faith", even though that Roman was a despised Gentile in the view of most Jewish society of the day.
I am certain that you have heard of the words of Edmund Burke, "All that is necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing" and if THIS election is not defined by the words of Burke, then you step right up and tell me what is.
[A shout out to muawiyah, guess you better report the guy who posted this to the mods, ok?]
... "All Republicans, independents, grassroots conservatives, tea party members, moderates, Reagan democrats, Christians, Jews, life, family, liberty, decency-loving patriots of any stripe must work like the blazes for the next couple of months and then turnout on election day and drag their friends, relatives and co-workers to the polls to vote that communist bastard and as many godless, liberty-hating, capitalism-hating, God-hating, liberal progressive, corrupt Marxist communists bastards the hell OUT as is humanly possible!!"

That was well stated, and I am right there with you; off the plantation.
Having lived and slaved in the GOP in Cook County and seen how the corruption and pay-to-play, handshakes, winking and intimidation works firsthand, it’s sad that few are willing to recognize it’s implementation nationally - even when it is in their face.
Reading this thread and others like it, it is apparent to me that Statism is perfectly fine for some, as long as it’s not Obama.
The fact that liberty will die a slower more agonizing death under Romney than a quicker one under Obama is lost on those who will willingly suffer evil, while evils are sufferable.

I've been calling for starving the beast as soon as possible, because both political parties are controlled by constituents who drive increases in debt while sucking on that debt. Government cannot continue to be big without revenues from a large manufacturing base. As for gradualism/incrementalism pushed in politics by so-called progressives (commies), it's the slow way.
Starve the beast, and make it small. Government cannot continue to be big without revenues from a large manufacturing base. Become more self-sufficient. Learn to manufacture something useful as a hobby for now.
I've made that clear hundreds of times, at least. I welcome the bond collapse and repudiation of debt just ahead, because that's the only way to decrease the size of government. That's conservative. Socialist readers who don't like it should quit their government jobs/pensions/services and find something useful to produce instead of using the feminist tactic of false accusations in political speech. Nearly all of the insanity in contemporary, bipartisan socialist politics results from the following.
From The Collaborative International Dictionary of English v.0.48 :
Hysteria \Hys*te"ri*a\, n. [NL.: cf. F. hyst['e]rie. See
Hysteric.] (Med.)
A nervous affection, occurring almost exclusively in women,
in which the emotional and reflex excitability is
exaggerated, and the will power correspondingly diminished,
so that the patient loses control over the emotions, becomes
the victim of imaginary sensations, and often falls into
paroxism or fits.
[1913 Webster]
Note: The chief symptoms are convulsive, tossing movements of
the limbs and head, uncontrollable crying and laughing,
and a choking sensation as if a ball were lodged in the
throat. The affection presents the most varied
symptoms, often simulating those of the gravest
diseases, but generally curable by mental treatment

How Dramatically Did Women's Suffrage Change the Size and Scope of Government?

University of Chicago Law School, John M. Olin Law & Economics Working Paper No. 60
Journal of Political Economy, Vol. 107, Number 6, Part 1, pp. 1163-1198, December 1999
Abstract:
This paper examines the growth of government during this century as a result of giving women the right to vote. Using cross-sectional time-series data for 1870 to 1940, we examine state government expenditures and revenue as well as voting by U.S. House and Senate state delegations and the passage of a wide range of different state laws. Suffrage coincided with immediate increases in state government expenditures and revenue and more liberal voting patterns for federal representatives, and these effects continued growing over time as more women took advantage of the franchise. Contrary to many recent suggestions, the gender gap is not something that has arisen since the 1970s, and it helps explain why American government started growing when it did.

The rules say we are not supposed to do any personal attacks on other posters. Like I was just telling your buddy MKJessup, it's so typical of any Mittbot to not bother with the rules around here.
He even uses prohibited bad words ~
Just so you don't think I"m being foolishly polite to you guys I was informed just this last June as follows:
" Your posting privilege has been suspended until 2012-06-02 23:25:53 Reason:
Gutter talk, personal attacks, filthy trash-talking comments are not the behavior of Conservatives nor is it appropriate for Free Republic. "
That means I'm really holding it in today ~ will probably need to run 5 miles after dinner and take extra blood pressure medicine, and extra insulin ~ maybe 1000 units ~ that's always good ~ great stuff. Makes your heart beat.
Jessup, that was just a REFERENCE to an expression milder than any of yours ~ so whoever is the Admin on Sunday afternoons might be more sensitive than you imagined.
Not that I am being your brains out with the rules, but I am beating your brains out with the rules ~
To: familyop
Hmm ~ problem with the US Repudiating debt is it has enormous assets. Most of your little tinpot dictators or kleptocracies that've repudiated debt had no assets worth seizing or even worrying about.
The US government needs a reordering of priorities but repudiation of debt isn't in the cards ~ I"ll take a place for a sales booth near the front door of the best lodge at the Grand Canyon and be happy ~
