One of the biggest misconceptions about GroupOn is that it is strictly for restaurants, entertainment, and travel. Well, your humble correspondent has taken advantages of those discount offers but for the most part, I have used GroupOn for "meat and potatoes" necessities. And one of my favorite necessities is propane. You might remember I had a post in this blog last year about getting FREE propane and guess what? I did it again!
I bought the propane last year in August but used my GroupOn coupon in January to score my FREE propane. Well, since I use the barbeque a couple of times per week, my tank will soon run out of propane. A few days ago I drove by the propane place where I got my tank in January and made the wish that the propane deal would become available again. It was almost like the Coupon god was reading my mind because on Monday, I saw the same propane deal on GroupOn again. Of course I immediately "bought" it since this is something I definitely need.

p.s. The propane normally sells for $20 to fill up a tank but the GroupOn gives you a discount so you only pay $10 which is CHEAP for propane. However, I still ended up paying NOTHING. This deal is for a Broward County location (Margate) so if you live in the area, take note.
PING!

Arbys is one of the companies that dumped Rush Limbaugh over the Sandra Fluke incident then blocked the Twitter accounts of people who complained about it. Tell all your friends to go there, get nothing but a free sandwich and tell them that Rush said thanks for the meal.
Oh, I didn’t know that. Anyway, I do have a beef (pun intended) with Arby’s. There isn’t much RB in Arby’s. Once upon a time they actually used REAL roast beef in their sandwiches. Nowadays it is a chemical concoction of which roast beef is only one of many additives.
OK, you made me look ;-)
Naturally the website delivers content based on location so what I see won’t necessarily be what you see. This is what I got:
The Groupon Guide to: Successful Left-Handed People
Left-handed people are just as important as right-handed people and deserve the courtesy and respect with which you would treat any stranger or dog. Just look at this list of all the successful left-handed people from the entirety of human history:
Tom Bedlington: Owner of Bedlington Ford Chevy Toyota, third-most-successful car dealership in Petaluma, California
Tina Caruthers: In the 1800s Ms. Caruthers successfully taught herself to be right-handed
Thats it.
Goodbye.
It's funny though - every other place in town that fills propane tanks has the adapter for our bottle. What a rip off!
“Once upon a time they actually used REAL roast beef in...”
Sorry. I gotta call “Urban Legend” on that one.
Sorry PJ, Arby's has always used fillers The ingredients below are still the original components
Arby-Q®: Roast Beef (beef, water, salt, sodium phosphate), Smoky Q Sauce (high fructose corn syrup, water, tomato paste, molasses, distilled vinegar, salt, modified corn starch, natural smoke flavor, mustard flour, onion powder, soybean oil, garlic powder, xanthan gum, sodium benzoate [preservative], spices).
Roast Beef: Beef, Water, Salt, Sodium Phosphates.
I am basically not a coupon person and definitely not a coupon person with any Internet driven business.
I make it a habit of swapping out the fittings on any device that has one that isn't standard. You can find a replacement for around $10. If you're talking about the old style tank valve with only the female reverse thread fitting, those should be retired by now as they are no longer legal to fill.
I read somewhere that Arby's beef comes as a gel in a plastic bag that is baked for hours before being sliced. The reason I believe that urban legend is that Arby's beef has no grain.
No, this is almost like the chuck on an air compressor. It’s legal, it’s just a bastard that no one uses anymore. It’s not worth spending the money since everyone else can fill it. Our worthless groupons expire this month anyhow.
