Heck, I lived in Hyde Park and probably shopped at some of the same grocery stores. By suburban standards, they were hardly supermarkets at all. Instead of Jewel, Dominicks and Cub Foods, I had to settle for Hyde Park Co-op, Mr. G's, and Village Foods.

In one of the smaller stores (Stop and Save), I swear I saw the same tiny canned ham in the window for three years.

If you lived in Hyde Park/Kenwood, your grocery stores are poor training grounds fro the real thing.

I didn't know these were every day staples. Not in my house, maybe semi annually. I got a kick out of her mentioning Tortilla chips, a processed food item. Why not just eat fresh corn?

I'm so glad moochelle is here to teach me how to shop. Till now, I didn't know I had to have a shopping list, I buy stuff on sale. I always shop the frozen food section last, now I'll have to change my ways and hit that section first.
